Year Released
2023; This figure debuted as part of the January wave of sets released to accompany the theatrical run of James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water.
Rarity
Uncommon. This specific version of Jake is found in only two sets. While the Avatar theme was popular, it had a relatively focused production run compared to evergreen themes like Star Wars or City.
Head
Bright Light Blue Na'vi head with pointy ears, yellow eyes, dark blue stripes, and red war paint across the forehead. The hair is a unique dark brown long braided piece with a hole for accessories.
Torso
Bright Light Blue torso with Na'vi stripe printing on front and back. It features a brown leather-style strap (bandolier) and a tan loincloth sash. The arms are plain Bright Light Blue.
Legs
Unique elongated 'Avatar' legs in Bright Light Blue. These are significantly longer than standard minifigure legs (equivalent to about 5 bricks high). Featured print includes blue Na'vi stripes and a continuation of the tan loincloth.
Accessories
Typically comes with a dark brown Na'vi spear or a bow and arrow (not shown in image). The figure also includes a thin, flexible plastic tail piece that attaches between the torso and legs.
Color Scheme
The primary color is Bright Light Blue, accented with Dark Blue stripes, Tan for the clothing, and Dark Brown for the hair/leather elements.
Printing Details
High-quality pad printing on the head, torso, and legs. The alignment for the 'stripes' is consistent across the joints, a hallmark of modern LEGO printing precision for IP themes.
Variants
Variations of Jake Sully include ava001 (Avatar 1 version with a different loincloth), ava011 (Skimwing riding version), and ava022 (a later 2023 variation). This version is distinguished by the specific red face paint.
Condition Notes
The elongated legs are prone to looser clutch power over time due to the leverage of the height. The tail piece is flexible but can develop white stress marks if bent sharply.
Estimated Value
Used: $5.00 - $8.00 USD; New: $10.00 - $12.00 USD. Prices are relatively stable as the theme has recently been retired in many regions.
Price (New)
The figure was primarily found in set 75573 (Floating Mountains: Site 26, retail $99.99) and 75575 (Ilu Discovery, retail $24.99).
Compatible Sets
75573 Floating Mountains: Site 26 & RDA Samson; 75575 Ilu Discovery.
Character Background
Jake Sully is the protagonist of the Avatar franchise, a former Marine who becomes the Toruk Makto and leader of the Omatikaya clan on the moon Pandora after permanently transferring his consciousness into his Na'vi avatar.
Design Notes
LEGO brought back the 'long' leg molds (originally used for Woody in Toy Story, 2010) specifically for this theme to represent the height difference between Na'vi and humans.
Similar Minifigures
Neytiri (ava002), Kiri (ava012), and Tonowari (ava015). Also shares design aesthetics with the 2010 LEGO Toy Story Woody due to the leg mold.
Collectibility
Moderate. Collectors of licensed themes value the unique molds (head, legs, hair), but market supply remains healthy for now.
History
This 2023 release represents the 'modern' era of Jake Sully, reflecting his older appearance and war paint seen in the sequel movie.
Interesting Facts
The hair piece features a small 1.5mm hole to allow for the 'Neural Link' (the queue) to be represented in certain MOCs or with translucent clips.
Display Suggestions
Looks best placed on a transparent 'flight' stand or paired with Pandora-inspired foliage pieces to highlight the height difference from standard minifigures.
Modification Potential
The head and hair are frequently used by customizers to make other Na'vi characters. The elongated legs are popular for creating 'slender man' or other tall custom characters.
Overall Assessment
A faithful and technically impressive representation of the movie character. The unique molds make it a standout part of any collection, with a 4/5 rating for design accuracy.
