Theme

DC Super Heroes

Year Released

2012. It debuted at the launch of the licensed DC Super Heroes line, replacing the 2006-2008 Batman theme era designs with more modern printing and expressions.

Rarity

Uncommon. While it appeared in two sets, it has been out of production for over a decade. It is a staple character for Batman collectors but increasingly difficult to find in mint condition.

Head

Light flesh tone with dual-sided printing. Side one features a smirk/smile with a black domino mask; side two typically features a determined or angry expression. Does not include the hair piece in this image (requires spiky black hair).

Torso

Red torso with 'R' logo on the left chest. Features yellow utility belt detail and green arms with black hands. Back printing includes the continuation of the utility belt and vest seams.

Legs

Green short legs (Note: The image shows standard green legs, though some versions/sets utilized mid-legs or short legs; sh011 specifically uses the standard green legs). No printing on legs.

Accessories

Missing in image. Originally includes a short yellow cape (cloth) and often a grappling hook or batarang. The spiky hair piece (Part 98385) is also missing.

Color Scheme

Classic primary colors: Red, Green, and Yellow. This mimics the Silver Age comic book appearance of Dick Grayson.

Printing Details

High-quality pad printing. The yellow on the red torso is opaque and well-aligned. Features detailed muscle definition lines and a crisp 'R' insignia.

Variants

There are over 40 versions of Robin. This specific variant (sh011) is distinguished by the 'smiley' face and standard green legs from the 2012 wave, unlike the 'Juniors' version (sh111) or the 'Dark' versions.

Condition Notes

The image shows notable play wear. Check for 'cracks' under the arms/torso sides. The yellow printing on the belt is prone to scratching. The lack of hair and cape significantly lowers the collector value.

Estimated Value

Current market value for a complete figure (with hair and cape) is ~$7-10 USD. As shown (incomplete, missing hair/cape), the value is approximately $3-5 USD.

Price (New)

Originally available in Set 6860 'The Batcave' ($69.99) and Set 10724 'Batman & Superman vs. Lex Luthor' ($19.99).

Compatible Sets

Set 6860 (The Batcave, 2012), Set 10724 (Batman & Superman vs. Lex Luthor, 2016).

Character Background

Dick Grayson, the original Robin and ward of Bruce Wayne. This design reflects his traditional circus-inspired costume before he transitioned to the Nightwing persona.

Design Notes

Transitioned from the 'classic' 2006 style to a more detailed 'comic-accurate' style with the introduction of the light-flesh skin tones instead of the generic yellow.

Similar Minifigures

sh031 (Robin - Red Suit), sh244 (Robin - Short Legs), and the 2006 original bat009 Robin.

Collectibility

Moderate. A core character for any DC collection. Its value remains stable but doesn't skyrocket like rare exclusive variants (e.g., SDCC versions).

History

Followed the legendary 2006 Batman line; sh011 was the first 'modern' Robin that many current collectors grew up with during the LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes video game era.

Interesting Facts

The face print for this Robin is actually recycled for several other 'young male' characters in the LEGO City and specialized lines due to its versatile smirk.

Display Suggestions

Display alongside the 2012-era 'Blue Gray' Batman. Use a short yellow cape to make the green legs pop against a dark Batcave MOC background.

Modification Potential

Excellent for purist customs. The torso is frequently used for classic Teen Titans Robin MOCs. Can be upgraded with dual-molded green/flesh legs for a more modern look.

Overall Assessment

A quintessential Robin minifigure. While this specific unit is missing its hair and cape, the torso and head remain iconic pieces of LEGO DC history. Recommendation: Buy if you can find the missing parts cheaply to restore it.
