Jek Porkins

Figure ID

sw0373

Theme

Star Wars

Year Released

2012 (First release in the LEGO Star Wars 9493 X-wing Starfighter)

Rarity

Uncommon. While not a limited-edition promotional figure, it only appeared in two sets over the span of 11 years, making it highly specific to those releases.

Head

Light flesh tone with a double-sided print: one side features a determined expression with a soul patch/goatee, and the other shows an 'agitated' expression. It includes a specific printed Rebel Pilot helmet with red and orange kill markings.

Torso

Orange Rebel flight suit with detailed printing of the grey life support box and chest straps. Light flesh-toned neckline and Dark Bluish Gray hands.

Legs

Standard orange legs with a printed light grey central strap representing the flight harness.

Accessories

Includes one black DH-17 blaster (standard LEGO Star Wars short blaster). The helmet (Part 973pb1044) is the primary character-defining accessory.

Color Scheme

Primary: Orange. Secondary: White, Light Flesh, and Dark Bluish Gray accents.

Printing Details

High-quality pad printing on the torso (front and back) and head. This figure was notable for having a unique facial hair print to match the specific actor from A New Hope.

Variants

None of the sw0373 ID. However, a major update (sw1246) was released in 2023 with improved leg printing and a new helmet mold.

Condition Notes

Watch for 'helmet rub' where the printing on the white helmet wears off. The orange legs are prone to typical micro-scratches on the sides.

Estimated Value

Used: $12.00 - $18.00. New: $22.00 - $30.00. Value varies significantly based on the condition of the helmet printing.

Price (New)

Included in Set 9493 (MSRP $59.99) and Set 75032 (MSRP $9.99).

Compatible Sets

9493 X-wing Starfighter (2012) and 75032 X-Wing Fighter Microfighter (2014).

Character Background

Jek Tono Porkins was a pilot for the Rebel Alliance (Red Six) who died during the Battle of Yavin. He is a cult fan favorite from Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope.

Design Notes

This was the first time LEGO attempted to represent a wider range of body types via facial hair and head shape, moving away from generic red-squadron pilots.

Similar Minifigures

Biggs Darklighter (sw0403), Garven Dreis (sw0372), and the 2023 Jek Porkins (sw1246).

Collectibility

High. Essential for fans completing the Red Squadron roster for a Battle of Yavin display.

History

Launched in 2012's X-Wing, this figure stayed the gold standard for the character for over a decade until the 2023 update.

Interesting Facts

The face print uniquely captures the actor William Hootkins' likeness better than most background characters of that era.

Display Suggestions

Best displayed inside or standing next to a T-65 X-wing Starfighter (Set 9493 or 75301).

Modification Potential

The head is often used by MOC builders for diverse civilian figures due to the unique facial hair.

Overall Assessment

A solid, era-defining minifigure that perfectly captures a niche character. Desirability remains stable for collectors of the original trilogy.
