Figure ID
pha005
Theme
Pharaoh's Quest
Year Released
2011. This was the debut of the Pharaoh's Quest theme, which acted as a spiritual successor to the classic Adventurers 'Desert' sub-theme, reflecting the 2010s era of highly detailed printing.
Rarity
Uncommon. While the theme was short-lived (lasting only one year), this specific mummy appeared in three different sets, making it the most common grunt in the line.
Head
Standard white minifigure head with a black skull print featuring hollow eyes, a simple nose triangle, and a jagged teeth/jawline. No dual-sided printing.
Torso
White torso with bandage wrap printing on both the front and back. The lines are thin and crisp in black and dark grey. Arms are white with white hands.
Legs
White legs with matching bandage wrap printing on the front of the hips and leg pieces. No side or back printing on the legs.
Accessories
Includes a Pearl Gold Pharaoh headpiece (Nemes) with red stripes. NOTE: The red katana shown in the image is a custom addition and was not included in the original sets; originally, this figure usually carried a khopesh or a spear.
Color Scheme
Primary white and black for the undead body; metallic Pearl Gold and Red for the headdress. The red katana is an outlier from the official color scheme.
Printing Details
High-quality pad printing on the head, torso, and legs. The alignment is generally excellent, typical of the 2011 production era, featuring the iconic 'mummy wrap' aesthetic with layered linework.
Variants
Variations include pha001 (hat version), pha004 (Flying Mummy with red wings), and pha008 (Amset-Ra). This specific version (pha005) is characterized by the Nemes headpiece.
Condition Notes
Common wear points include 'arm cracks' on the white torso and gold paint rubbing off the Nemes headpiece. White parts are highly susceptible to yellowing if exposed to sunlight.
Estimated Value
Used Complete: $3.00 - $5.00 USD; New/Mint: $6.00 - $8.00 USD. The custom red sword adds no official value and might slightly lower 'purist' collector interest.
Price (New)
Originally available in sets ranging from the $4.99 polybag to the $99.99 Pyramid set. The price-per-minifigure stayed around $3.50 based on 2011 retail pricing.
Compatible Sets
7307 Flying Mummy Attack, 7325 Cursed Cobra Statue, and 7327 Scorpion Pyramid.
Character Background
An undead guardian of the Pharaoh Amset-Ra. These mummies were the primary antagonists tasked with stopping Mac McLoud and his team of adventurers from collecting the six lost treasures.
Design Notes
The Nemes headpiece was a significant mold update from the 1990s Adventurers era, offering a more realistic silhouette but maintaining the 'toy-like' charm of the original skull faces.
Similar Minifigures
Mummy (CMF Series 3), Mummy (Monster Fighters), and the classic 'Mummy' from the 1998 Adventurers Desert theme.
Collectibility
Moderate. It is a staple for fans of pulp-adventure themes or those building undead armies. Value has remained stable rather than spiking like Star Wars or Marvel figures.
History
Followed the 2010 CMF Series 3 Mummy. Pharaoh's Quest was a bridge between the classic Adventurers and the later Monster Fighters (2012) lines.
Interesting Facts
Despite being 'mummies,' the face print is a generic skeleton face (pattern 3626bpb0445), which is shared with various Castle and Pirates skeleton figures from that era.
Display Suggestions
Best displayed in a desert-themed MOC or on a tan baseplate. Looks excellent alongside the 7327 Scorpion Pyramid or paired with the 1990s Johnny Thunder figures for a 'generational' display.
Modification Potential
Highly modular. The torso and legs are excellent for 'undead' MOCs, and the Nemes headpiece is often used by customizers to create high-ranking Egyptian historical figures.
Overall Assessment
A solid, high-detail grunt figure that represents the peak of LEGO's adventure-genre design. It is affordable for entry-level collectors and essential for completionists of the 2011 era.
