Character Background
Fíli was a dwarf of the House of Durin, the older brother of Kíli, and nephew of Thorin Oakenshield. He was one of the twelve dwarves who accompanied Thorin and Bilbo Baggins on the quest to reclaim the Lonely Mountain from Smaug.
Design Notes
Features specialized dual-molded or uniquely printed dual-sided head and custom-printed torso elements to accurately represent the cinematic portrayal of the character from Peter Jackson's Hobbit trilogy.
Similar Minifigures
Kíli the Dwarf (lor036), Thorin Oakenshield (lor038), and other members of Thorin's Company.
Collectibility
High collectibility due to the retirement of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit themes, making all dwarf minifigures highly sought after by Tolkien fans.
History
Released during the peak of The Hobbit movie trilogy waves in 2013, representing a short-lived era of Middle-earth sets before the theme went into a long hiatus.
Interesting Facts
Fíli and his brother Kíli are among the few dwarves in the LEGO lineup to not feature specialized short legs, instead utilizing standard minifigure legs to represent their taller stature relative to older dwarves like Gloin or Bombur.
Display Suggestions
Best displayed on a dark grey rocky MOC baseplate alongside other members of Thorin's Company, equipped with his dual daggers in a battle pose.
Modification Potential
Great for purist custom fantasy builds, medieval MOCs, or custom Dungeons & Dragons tabletop character representations.
Overall Assessment
An essential addition for any Middle-earth collector, featuring fantastic printing and excellent character accuracy despite being locked behind a single retired set.
