Year Released
First released in 2011. This was the debut wave for Ninjago, which introduced a major shift in LEGO's play patterns with spinners and card game mechanics.
Rarity
Uncommon. While he appeared in four sets, the Skeleton Army figures were discontinued after the 2011 line and replaced by the Serpentine, making them nostalgic targets for early Ninjago fans.
Head
White standard minifigure head with a skeleton skull print. Features glowing red eyes, black stitched detailing on the forehead, and missing teeth. The printing is specific to the character Krazi.
Torso
Skeleton torso (piece 60115) in white. It features molded rib cage detail and four 'swivel' arm attachment points. The neck area features small black circle prints representing a necklace or collar.
Legs
White skeleton legs with vertical bone detailing. The hip piece features a red and black printed loincloth/belt, which is a key identifying feature of this specific character.
Accessories
Missing in image. Originally came with a jester-style skeletal hat (black and white) and various weapons like a black lightning bolt blade or mace depending on the set.
Color Scheme
Primary white for the bone structure, accented by red and black for the clothing and eye details. The red loincloth is the primary character identifier against other skeleton generals.
Printing Details
High precision pad printing on the head and hip piece. The torso lacks printing on the rib cage itself (molded) but has printing at the neck base. No back printing was used on this version of the mold.
Variants
Standard version (njo011) and a 'shrunken' version (njo029) which used short legs. The head and torso remained consistent between these versions.
Condition Notes
Common wear points include loose arm joints (the 'swivel' pin design is prone to losing friction) and fading of the red loincloth print. Check for stress marks on the thin rib cage plastic.
Estimated Value
Used: $5 - $8 USD. New/Mint: $12 - $15 USD. The figure shown is missing the signature jester hat, which reduces the value to approximately $3 - $4.
Price (New)
Originally available in sets ranging from $4.99 (Spinners) to $69.99 (Garmadon's Dark Fortress).
Compatible Sets
2116 Krazi, 2260 Ice Dragon Attack, 2504 Spinjitzu Dojo, and 2505 Garmadon's Dark Fortress.
Character Background
Krazi is the Skeleton General of Lightning within Lord Garmadon's Skeleton Army from the Underworld. He is known for his insane, laughing personality and hyperactive movements in the TV series.
Design Notes
The 2011 skeleton mold was an evolution of the 2007 Fantasy Era skeletons, featuring better articulation at the shoulders and a more stylized, aggressive face print suitable for the Ninjago aesthetic.
Similar Minifigures
Kruncha (njo014), Wyplash (njo013), Frakjaw (njo010), and Chopov (njo012). These all share the same body structure with different head prints and loincloth colors.
Collectibility
High interest for 'OG' Ninjago collectors. As the 10th anniversary has passed, there is a strong secondary market for the original 2011 'Way of the Ninja' character line.
History
Launched Ninjago's villain roster in early 2011. This specific mold style for skeletons was iconic for the first year of the theme before moving toward more traditional minifigure leg designs for later villains.
Interesting Facts
Despite being 'General of Lightning,' Krazi is often portrayed as the most incompetent and comical character in the Underworld army, providing comic relief in the 'Masters of Spinjitzu' pilot.
Display Suggestions
Best displayed on a dark grey or 'Underworld' purple baseplate. Looks excellent alongside Garmadon's Dark Fortress or the other three Skeleton Generals (Kruncha, Wyplash, Frakjaw).
Modification Potential
The skeleton arms and legs are highly sought after by MOC builders for creating custom undead creatures or necromancer scenes in Castle-themed builds.
Overall Assessment
A classic piece of LEGO Ninjago history. This figure is a solid 7/10 for collectors; while not extremely expensive, it is essential for completing the original villain faction. This specific unit needs its jester hat to be considered 'complete'.
