Scooby-Doo - Standing with Scared / Worried Expression

Figure ID

sc001

Theme

Scooby-Doo

Year Released

2015 - Released as part of the initial wave of Scooby-Doo sets.

Rarity

Uncommon. While not a limited promotional item, the Scooby-Doo license was short-lived (2015-2016), making all specific character molds increasingly difficult to find in good condition.

Head

Unique molded head. Features large black nose, pointed ears, and 'Scared' expression (wide eyes with pupils shifted to the side). Non-removable from the body mold.

Torso

Integrated body mold. Features medium nougat base color with signature black spots printed on the back and sides. Includes a molded teal collar with a gold 'SD' tag.

Legs

Four molded legs in a 'standing' pose. Front-right leg is slightly raised in a cautious or 'creeping' posture. Includes one stud on the back for mounting a minifigure or accessory.

Accessories

None included with the individual figure mold, though often paired with 'Scooby Snacks' (printed 1x1 tiles) in sets.

Color Scheme

Medium Nougat (body), Teal (collar), Gold (tag), and Black (spots and nose).

Printing Details

Pad-printed black spots on the torso and haunches. Fine detail on the 'SD' collar tag and the expressive eyes. Alignment is generally consistent with LEGO's high 2015 standards.

Variants

There are several Scooby variants: Standing Scared (sc001), Sitting Scared (sc002), Standing Grinning (sc003), Sitting Grinning (sc004), and a Life-Vest version (sc011).

Condition Notes

Prone to 'nose rub' where the black paint on the tip of the snout wears off. Rubberized ears and tail can attract dust or suffer from bite marks. Check the integrity of the neck seam.

Estimated Value

Used: $12 - $18 USD | New (extracted from set): $25 - $30 USD. Prices fluctuate based on the condition of the nose and eye printing.

Price (New)

N/A - This figure appeared in sets ranging from the $12.99 Mummy Museum Mystery to the $89.99 Mystery Mansion.

Compatible Sets

75900 Mummy Museum Mystery, 75902 The Mystery Machine, 75904 Mystery Mansion.

Character Background

Scoobert 'Scooby' Doo is the mascot of Mystery Inc. and best friend to Shaggy Rogers. Known for his cowardice and love of Scooby Snacks, he first appeared in 1969's 'Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!'.

Design Notes

LEGO opted for a highly accurate, non-traditional specialized mold rather than a brick-built dog to capture Scooby's iconic silhouette and facial expressions.

Similar Minifigures

Other Scooby-Doo variants, Shaggy Rogers (sh001), and the Great Dane from the Collectible Minifigure Series.

Collectibility

High. The theme is retired and highly nostalgic. Complete sets of the Mystery Inc. gang are staples for many adult collectors.

History

Launched in 2015 after years of fan requests. This was the first time LEGO produced the Scooby-Doo license, and no new sets have been produced since the 2016 Dimensions expansion packs.

Interesting Facts

The 'SD' on the collar is one of the smallest legible pad-printed acronyms LEGO has produced on a specialized animal mold.

Display Suggestions

Best displayed alongside the 75902 Mystery Machine or in a spooky MOC (My Own Creation) featuring a ghost or monster.

Modification Potential

Low, as the specialized mold does not allow for standard limb swapping. However, the back stud allows for 'rider' minifigures or small parcels.

Overall Assessment

A fantastic representation of the character. The 'sc001' standing pose is the most iconic for play and display. Essential for any Scooby-Doo fan.
