Bright Yellow skin, White shirt, Medium Azure pants. A faithful recreation of the 1989 character design.

Simple aesthetic fitting the cartoon. Pad printing on the collar and chest. The eyes and muzzle occupy the majority of the facial mold area.

Notable variants include the Series 1 CMF (colsim1-1) with half-closed 'sleepy' eyes, and the Level Pack Homer from LEGO Dimensions (dim001) which has different printing.

Character Background

Homer Jay Simpson, the patriarch of the Simpson family. Created by Matt Groening, he is an iconic pop-culture figure known for his job at the Springfield Nuclear Plant and his love for donuts.

Design Notes

One of the first occasions LEGO used a fully custom-molded head rather than a standard minifigure head to preserve the silhouette of a licensed character.

Similar Minifigures

Marge Simpson (sim002), Bart Simpson (sim003), Lisa Simpson (sim004), and Ned Flanders (sim006).

Collectibility

High. The Simpsons line was short-lived (only two large sets and two CMF series), making 'core' family members from the original house set highly desirable.

History

Released in 2014 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Simpsons. It marked a major departure from traditional LEGO design via the specialized head molds.

Interesting Facts

The design caused some controversy in the AFOL (Adult Fan of LEGO) community initially because the heads were not 'LEGO-like' enough, but they are now highly praised for accuracy.

Display Suggestions

Best displayed inside a custom acrylic case with the rest of the 71006 minifigures or in a living room MOC featuring a brown couch.

Modification Potential

The head can be swapped onto a blue Hazmat suit torso to create 'Nuclear Plant' Homer or a white bathrobe for 'Mumu' Homer.

Overall Assessment

A legendary minifigure. Despite its simplicity, it perfectly captures the essence of the character. A must-have for any fan of 90s animation or licensed themes.
