Character Background
Taun We was an administrative aide on the planet Kamino and the primary contact for Obi-Wan Kenobi during his investigation into the clone army. She is a Kaminoan, known for their height and elegant, elongated features.
Design Notes
Significant for being the first Kaminoan LEGO figure. The use of a specialized neck/head mold was a major design departure from standard minifigure proportions to capture the alien's height.
Similar Minifigures
Lama Su (if he were to be released), or other tall specialized figures like the Quermian species or long-necked droids.
Collectibility
High for Star Wars fans. Fans waited 20 years for a Kaminoan figure, making this a 'checklist' item for Prequel Trilogy collectors.
History
For years, fans requested a Kaminoan. LEGO finally developed the specialized mold in 2022 to mark the 20th anniversary of Attack of the Clones, replacing fan-made 'purist' customs.
Interesting Facts
Despite being a major visual icon of Episode II, it took LEGO two decades to produce a molded head for this species. The neck length makes her taller than a standard minifigure but shorter than a Wookiee.
Display Suggestions
Display alongside Obi-Wan Kenobi (sw1210) and R4-P17 on a Tipoca City inspired landing pad MOC. UV protection is vital for white LEGO pieces to prevent yellowing.
Modification Potential
The head/neck piece is a single unit that can be placed on other torsos for custom Kaminoan characters like Nala Se from The Bad Batch.
Overall Assessment
An excellent 9/10 figure. The specialized mold perfectly captures the source material. It is the definitive version of the character and a vital addition to any Star Wars collection.
