Figure ID
col008
Theme
Collectible Minifigures
Year Released
2010
Rarity
Very Rare. Being part of the first-ever Series 1 wave, production numbers were significantly lower than modern series, and collectors often hold onto complete sets.
Head
Yellow classic skin tone. Female face with black eyes/pupils, eyelashes, thin eyebrows, and an open-mouth grin with teeth. Hair is a Tan Ponytail with Side Bangs (Part 60900).
Torso
Blue female cheerleader uniform with a 'M' printed on the chest. Neckline and waist feature white/blue striping. Yellow arms with yellow hands.
Legs
White hips and legs. Features printing for a short white pleated skirt with blue trim and high white socks with two blue stripes and blue accents near the top.
Accessories
Two specialized pom-pom pieces (Part 87851) in dual-molded Blue and White. These are specific to Cheerleader-type figures and debuted with this figure.
Color Scheme
A primary athletic palette of Blue, White, and Tan (for the hair), creating a classic university or high school aesthetic.
Printing Details
High quality for the era. Features torso printing (front) and leg printing (front). No back printing, which was standard for CMF Series 1.
Variants
Standard Series 1 version only. There are later cheerleaders (Series 8, Series 14, Team GB, and City versions) but they feature different colors and letters.
Condition Notes
Common wear includes 'heel cracks' on the back of the legs and loose hair pieces. The pom-poms are prone to losing their 'clutch' on the hands over time.
Estimated Value
New (Sealed): $40-$55 | Used Complete: $25-$35. Individual pom-poms can cost $5-$8 each because they are easily lost.
Price (New)
Original MSRP was $1.99 USD in 2010. The figure was sold in blind-bags.
Compatible Sets
Collectible Minifigures Series 1 (Set 8683-8).
Character Background
A generic character representing high-energy school spirit. The 'M' on the torso likely stands for 'Minifigure' or refers to a LEGO-created team.
Design Notes
This figure is iconic as it introduced the pom-pom mold and the specific ponytail mold that became a staple for female LEGO figures for years.
Similar Minifigures
Series 8 Cheerleader (Red), Series 14 Zombie Cheerleader, Team GB Belles, and the LEGO Movie 2 Sherry Scratchen-Post.
Collectibility
High. As a member of Series 1, she is a 'holy grail' figure for those trying to complete a full CMF collection. Values have risen steadily.
History
Launched the concept of modern female sports-themed LEGO figures. It marked the very beginning of LEGO's shift toward character-variety in blind packaging.
Interesting Facts
Despite being an 'uncommon' figure within the Series 1 box distribution (3 per box of 60), she remains one of the most recognizable figures from the launch wave.
Display Suggestions
Display in a vertical CMF frame or on a stadium-themed MOC. Looks best when standing with arms raised to showcase the pom-poms.
Modification Potential
Excellent. The 'M' torso is generic enough for high school MOCs, and the hairpiece is popular for custom City civilians.
Overall Assessment
A foundational piece of LEGO history. For a serious collector, this figure is a 5/5 mandatory purchase for historical significance and aesthetic appeal.
