Theme

Star Wars

Year Released

2019 - Debuted in set 75235 (X-Wing Starfighter Trench Run) and 75262 (Imperial Dropship – 20th Anniversary Edition).

Rarity

Common to Uncommon. While it was mass-produced in several sets, it remains in high demand due to army-building preferences.

Head

Head is a plain black 'head vent' style or more commonly the 'Angry Clone' face (sw0001b/6268590) underneath the helmet. The helmet is the standout feature: a dual-molded white and black piece with printed blue vents and a gray grille.

Torso

White torso with standard Imperial Stormtrooper armor printing including chest plates and abdominal segments. Back printing includes the thermal detonator cylinder on the utility belt. Standard white arms with black hands.

Legs

White legs with white hips. High-detail printing on the front of the legs showing knee plates and the lower portion of the utility belt. No side or back leg printing.

Accessories

Typically includes a black blaster (standard or short variant). Some sets included a jetpack or specialized equipment, though none are shown in the image.

Color Scheme

Classic Imperial monochrome: Primary white with black contrast sections. Minor accents of dark gray on the mouth grille and sand blue for the helmet vents.

Printing Details

High-fidelity pad printing. The helmet uses dual-molding technology (black and white plastic fused together) rather than just paint for the visor area, ensuring the black visor never scratches off.

Variants

This is the 'modern' dual-molded version. It differs from sw0585 (Rebels style) and sw0997 (darker mouth grille). There is a slight variant in set 75235 that features a different head print underneath.

Condition Notes

The dual-molded helmet is very durable, but the white plastic is prone to yellowing if exposed to UV light. Check for 'arm cracks' on the torso and loose hip joints.

Estimated Value

Used: $4.00 - $6.00 USD | New: $7.00 - $9.00 USD. Value fluctuates based on bulk availability and Army Building demand.

Price (New)

Mostly available in sets ranging from $14.99 (Battle Packs/4+) to $99.99 (Star Destroyer). Not sold individually.

Compatible Sets

75235 X-Wing Starfighter Trench Run, 75262 Imperial Dropship – 20th Anniversary Edition, 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer (UCS), 75300 Imperial TIE Fighter.

Character Background

The iconic frontline soldiers of the Galactic Empire. This specific design is based on their appearance in 'A New Hope' and 'The Empire Strikes Back'.

Design Notes

Introduced a controversial 'family look' for Stormtroopers where the helmet is slightly oversized compared to earlier versions to accommodate the dual-molding process.

Similar Minifigures

sw0188 (Classic 2008), sw0585 (Rebels era), sw1181 (Family portrait variant), and sw0997 (2019 darker grille).

Collectibility

High. Stormtroopers are the most collected army-building figures in the LEGO Star Wars line. While common, they hold value well due to the volume required for dioramas.

History

Represents the 4th major evolution of the Stormtrooper design since 1999. Major milestone was the move from a single-piece mold with printed visors to the dual-molded plastic used here.

Interesting Facts

The 'dual-mold' helmet was initially polarizing among fans because the lack of a swivel chin made the trooper appear to be 'looking up', though it has since become the modern standard.

Display Suggestions

Best displayed in formation (ranks of 4 or 8) on a light-gray baseplate or alongside a Darth Vader (sw1029) or TIE Pilot.

Modification Potential

Excellent for 'purist' customs. The legs and torso are perfect for Imperial officers in combat gear or specialized shoretroopers/sandtroopers with part swaps.

Overall Assessment

A solid, high-detail modern trooper. While the helmet mold size is debated, the printing quality and durability make it a 4/5 star figure for play and display.
