Character Background
A traveler and explorer who was an ally to the Jedi Order and the Resistance. He held the map fragment leading to Luke Skywalker on Jakku and was executed by Kylo Ren at the start of Episode VII.
Design Notes
The hair piece captures Max von Sydow’s likeness well. The use of tan tones accurately reflects the character's appearance in the village of Tuanul.
Similar Minifigures
Old Ben Kenobi (sw0552), Baylan Skoll (sw1301), and other elder mentor figures in the Star Wars line.
Collectibility
Moderate. Desirable for completionists of the Sequel Trilogy or fans of the late Max von Sydow.
History
Released during the height of the Star Wars sequel hype in the summer 2016 wave of sets.
Interesting Facts
Despite being the catalyst for the entire sequel trilogy's plot, this character only appeared in one LEGO set.
Display Suggestions
Display alongside Poe Dameron and BB-8 in a Jakku village diorama or sitting inside a small desert hut.
Modification Potential
The head piece is excellent for custom 'Old Man' figures or older medieval peasants in Castle MOCs.
Overall Assessment
A solid, detailed representation of a minor but vital character. It is a 'must-have' for Sequel Trilogy collectors but likely a 'pass' for casual fans.
