Cragger - Cape

Figure ID

loc007

Theme

Legends of Chima

Year Released

2013 (First wave of Chima sets)

Rarity

Uncommon. While the character is a main protagonist/antagonist, this specific variant with the red cape was primarily distributed in higher-tier sets and specific accessory packs during the theme's peak.

Head

Olive Green crocodile head piece with yellow eyes, orange pupils, and dark green scales printed on the top. The mouth features white printed teeth. It is a dual-molded/printed specialized head piece unique to the Chima crocodile characters.

Torso

Olive Green torso with dark red ragged tunic printing. Features a light green scaly chest plate and a silver/blue 'CHI' orb necklace. Dark green arms and hands. Includes back printing of the tunic and scales.

Legs

Olive Green legs with dark red loincloth/belt printing. Features toe/claw printing at the feet and a light green scale pattern on the shins. The hip piece color matches the olive green base.

Accessories

Deep red tattered cape with a jagged bottom edge. In sets, he often comes with a Vengious Valious sword or a CHI-powered staff, though none are pictured here.

Color Scheme

Primary: Olive Green; Accents: Dark Red, Dark Green, and Silver/Light Blue. The scheme represents the swamp-based Crocodile Tribe motif.

Printing Details

Highly detailed for its era, featuring 360-degree integration between the torso and legs. The 'CHI' crystal printing has a metallic silver sheen. Note the specific claw prints on the toes which was premium detailing for 2013.

Variants

There are over 10 variants of Cragger, including 'Fire CHI' (loc081), 'Heavy Armor' (loc060), and 'Stealth Robes' (loc138). This loc007 version is the standard 'King' variant with the cape.

Condition Notes

The jagged cape is highly prone to fraying at the tips. The snout of the head piece can experience paint rub on the teeth. Check for 'neck cracks' on the olive green torso, a common issue with pre-2015 pigments.

Estimated Value

Used Complete: $5.00 - $8.00. New: $12.00 - $18.00. Value is stable as Chima has a dedicated but niche fan base.

Price (New)

Featured in sets ranging from $14.99 (Cragger's Command Ship polybag/small box) to $79.99 (70006 Cragger's Command Ship).

Compatible Sets

70006 Cragger's Command Ship, 70211 CHI Cragger, and various accessory/battle packs.

Character Background

Prince (later King) of the Crocodile Tribe. Originally Laval the Lion's best friend, he was corrupted by CHI and became the primary antagonist of the first season before redeeming himself.

Design Notes

The Chima head pieces were a significant departure from standard minifigure heads, utilizing stiff plastic that allowed for high sculptural detail but eliminated head rotation inside the mold.

Similar Minifigures

Laval (loc001), Worriz (loc009), Crawley (loc012), and Crominus (loc017).

Collectibility

Moderate. Collectors of the complete Chima roster view this as a 'must-have' core character, but it lacks the extreme value of the 'Fire CHI' variants.

History

Chima was LEGO's attempt to replicate the success of Ninjago with an original IP. Released in 2013, it introduced highly specialized animal head molds that were later used in some Ultra Agents and movie sets.

Interesting Facts

The red cape represents his status as royalty. In the TV show, the cape is much larger and more flowy than the stiff LEGO fabric allows.

Display Suggestions

Display alongside Laval to represent their 'frenemy' dynamic. A swamp-themed MOC with trans-green water plates enhances the Olive Green coloring.

Modification Potential

The head piece is popular for Dungeons & Dragons 'Dragonborn' or 'Lizardfolk' custom minifigures.

Overall Assessment

A quintessential 2010s LEGO figure. It represents the era's push for highly detailed, theme-specific molds over traditional minifigure shapes. Solid build quality and excellent printing alignment.
