Ultra Violet

Figure ID

njo431

Theme

Ninjago

Year Released

2018

Rarity

Uncommon. This specific version was exclusive to two sets during the 'Sons of Garmadon' wave in 2018. While Ninjago figures are produced in high volume, specific named villains from retired waves become harder to find over time.

Head

Dual-sided printing. One side features the 'Oni Mask of Hatred' (green mask with red eyes and tusks), and the other shows a female face with purple and white face paint. It includes a teal-colored hair/helmet piece.

Torso

Teal and white printing with purple accents. Front features a silver Sons of Garmadon emblem (a circular badge) and purple robes. Dark purple hands and teal arms. Back printing includes continuation of the robe and belt detail.

Legs

White hips and legs with printing that matches the torso. Includes gold/bronze knee pads and teal/purple robe detailing that extends down the front and sides.

Accessories

Usually comes with a silver 'Oni Mask of Hatred' (though depicted here with the mask printed on the head), dark gray mechanical pauldrons/neck gear, and trans-neon yellow lightning/energy effects that attach to the hands or the back assembly.

Color Scheme

Teal, White, Purple, and Dark Gray. Trans-neon yellow is the highlight for her powers. Gold and silver indicate её rank and mechanical components.

Printing Details

High-quality pad printing on the head, front/back of the torso, and front of the legs. The 'Oni Mask' print on the head is particularly detailed with intricate line work.

Variants

There is a standard variant (njo394) which features a different head and a leather jacket torso. This specific variant (njo431) is the 'Mask of Hatred' version.

Condition Notes

Common wear points include the neck bracket (cracking) and the trans-neon yellow energy pieces (which can lose 'clutch power' or become cloudy). Check the teal hair/helmet piece for scratches.

Estimated Value

Current market value is approximately $5.00 - $8.00 USD for a used complete figure. New versions can reach $12.00+ USD depending on the market source.

Price (New)

Originally available in 70641 Ninja Nightcrawler ($39.99) and 70642 Killow vs. Samurai X ($49.99). The price per figure in these sets was roughly $3-$5 at retail time.

Compatible Sets

70641 Ninja Nightcrawler (2018) and 70642 Killow vs. Samurai X (2018).

Character Background

Ultra Violet was a high-ranking member (a 'General') of the Sons of Garmadon. She is a maniacal and aggressive lieutenant who served the Silent One (Harumi) in the quest to resurrect Lord Garmadon.

Design Notes

The designers used teal heavily to contrast with the typical red/black palette of the Garmadon faction. The use of hand-held energy pieces was a core play feature of the 2018 wave to represent the power of the Oni masks.

Similar Minifigures

Mr. E (njo397), Killow (njo402), and Princess Harumi (njo401). Other versions of Ultra Violet (njo394).

Collectibility

Moderate. Fans of the 'Sons of Garmadon' season—widely considered one of the best Ninjago story arcs—demand these villains to complete their collections.

History

Debuted in Season 8 of the Ninjago TV show. This figure was part of the first wave to introduce the 'Mask of Hatred' as a physical piece, though this variant uses a printed head to represent the mask being worn.

Interesting Facts

The 'Oni Mask of Hatred' in the show allows the wearer to grow extra arms, which is why LEGO often includes the চার-armed neck bracket accessory with this figure.

Display Suggestions

Display alongside the other two Oni Mask generals (Mr. E and Killow) or inside the Oni Temple MOC. Use a transparent stand to lift her up and showcase the lightning effects.

Modification Potential

The teal hair piece is highly sought after for custom 'Classic Space' style figures or futuristic MOCs. The mechanical back attachment is great for building custom cyborgs.

Overall Assessment

A solid, mid-tier villain minifigure with excellent color contrast. It's a 'Buy' for Ninjago completionists, though its value remains tethered to the popularity of the Season 8 theme.
