Figure ID

Theme

DC Super Heroes

Year Released

2014 - First appeared in set 76012 Batman: The Riddler Chase. This was a peak era for the expansion of the DC core Justice League lineup in LEGO.

Rarity

Uncommon. While it only appeared in two sets originally, it was widely available during its production run. It is now discontinued and sought after by collectors.

Head

Light Flesh face with mask-opening print. Dual-sided printing: one side features a big grin, the reverse features a determined/angry expression with white eyes used for the mask 'cow' look. The mask perimeter is printed in red onto the head piece.

Torso

Red torso with front and back printing. The front features the iconic yellow lightning bolt in a white circle (Flash logo) with yellow lightning details and abdominal muscular definition. The back features continued muscle definition and the back of the yellow belt.

Legs

Plain red legs without printing. Standard adult size.

Accessories

Usually included two translucent-yellow lightning bolt hand-held pieces or power blast pieces depending on the set, though the base figure shown is missing its helmet piece (Part 15418).

Color Scheme

Red and Bright Yellow. Primary red plastic for the body with yellow and white printing for the Speed Force branding.

Printing Details

Pad-printed on the head and torso. The white circle on the torso is often slightly translucent due to the red base plastic beneath it, which is a common quirk of this specific figure's era.

Variants

This specifically is the sh087 version. Other versions include sh452 (Justice League film), sh449 (DCEU), and the more recent 2024 versions with updated helmet molds.

Condition Notes

The red plastic is fairly durable, but the torso printing (especially the yellow belt line) is prone to scratching. Check for 'neck cracks' in the torso and silvering on the head print.

Estimated Value

Used (Complete): $10-$15 USD. New: $22-$28 USD. The figure shown in the image is missing the helmet, reducing value to approx. $6-$8.

Price (New)

The primary set 76012 retailed for $29.99 USD in 2014. The figure was not available individually.

Compatible Sets

76012: Batman: The Riddler Chase (2014), 76026: Gorilla Grodd Goes Bananas (2015).

Character Background

Barry Allen, also known as the Flash, is the fastest man alive. He gained his powers through a lab accident involving lightning and chemicals, connecting him to the Speed Force.

Design Notes

This version was notable for introducing the specialized Flash helmet piece (15418), which featured molded lightning bolts on the sides, though the figure pictured is currently missing it.

Similar Minifigures

Reverse-Flash (sh318), Supergirl (sh163), and the Comic-Con exclusive Flash figures (sh040).

Collectibility

High. As a core member of the Justice League, this remains a cornerstone figure for any LEGO DC collection.

History

SH087 was the first mass-market comic-book style Flash produced by LEGO, following the ultra-rare 2012 SDCC exclusive.

Interesting Facts

Despite being an older figure, many collectors prefer this comic-accurate red to the more muted, darker reds used in the movie-tie-in versions.

Display Suggestions

Display in a sprinting pose using a clear angled bar, or alongside the 2014 Justice League members (Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Green Lantern, Cyborg, Aquaman).

Modification Potential

Excellent for 'MOC' speedsters. By swapping the head or torso, collectors often create custom Speed Force characters like Kid Flash or Max Mercury.

Overall Assessment

A classic 'Must-Have' for DC fans. While the legs are plain, the torso and head graphics are iconic. Rating: 7.5/10.
