Character Background
Grogu, colloquially known as Baby Yoda, is a Force-sensitive member of the same species as Yoda. He is the central deuteragonist of the Disney+ series The Mandalorian.
Design Notes
The figure uses a specialized 'toddler' scale, making it one of the smallest official LEGO Star Wars figures. The head is a softer material than standard ABS plastic.
Similar Minifigures
Yoda (sw0051, sw0606), Baby Niamos, and various LEGO micro-figures from the Games line or decorative sets.
Collectibility
High popularity but low financial investment potential due to extreme saturation in the market. Every Star Wars fan wants one, but they are very easy to find.
History
Launched during the height of 'The Child' fever in 2020. This specific mold marked a significant shift in how LEGO portrays infant/toddler creatures in licensed themes.
Interesting Facts
The figure is so small it can be swallowed easily, leading to many collectors losing them in carpet. It is one of the few figures where the head represents nearly 50% of the total mass.
Display Suggestions
Best displayed inside a transparent 1x2x2 brick or 'jar' MOC, or inside a custom-built hovering pram using a radar dish and curved slopes.
Modification Potential
Commonly used in MOCs for Force-themed dioramas. Customizers often repaint the coat to match his appearance in later seasons of the show.
Overall Assessment
9/10 for accuracy and cuteness. 2/10 for rarity. It is a mandatory addition for any modern Star Wars collector but should not be purchased as a high-value investment.
