Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope · 2004

Figure ID
sw0110
Theme
Star Wars
Year Released
2004
Rarity
Uncommon to Rare. While not a limited convention exclusive, it was produced for a brief window during the transition from classic yellow-skin figures to realistic flesh-tones in 2004.
Head
Unique molded piece in Sand Green / Teal. Features textured Rodian skin, large black eyes with white dot printing, pointed ears, and a snout with microscopic white dot-matrix printing for gradients. This mold was a major innovation for the era.
Torso
Sand Blue torso with a Tan vest print on the front and back. The torso features fine vertical lines representing a ribbed jumpsuit and a brown waistline. Arms are Sand Blue with light tan/gray line printing on the outer sleeve.
Legs
Medium Azure/Sand Blue legs with a vertical brown line printed down the center of the hips, representing Greedo's holster belt.
Accessories
Light Gray (Metalized/Flat Silver) small blaster pistol. Earlier versions of this character often used the standard megaphone-style blaster, but this version included the more accurate pistol mold.
Color Scheme
Primary colors are Sand Blue and Tan/Sand Green. The figure uses a unique palette meant to reflect the colorful alien designs of the Cantina scene.
Printing Details
High-quality pad printing on the head snout, torso (front and back), arms, and the front of the hip piece. The arm printing was particularly advanced for the mid-2000s.
Variants
There are several Greedo variants: sw0012 (2000), sw0110 (2004, this version), sw0297 (2010), sw1144 (2021). The 2004 version (sw0110) is the first to feature arm printing and a more detailed torso compared to the 2000 classic.
Condition Notes
Common wear points include the rubbery texture of the head which can attract dust or become 'sticky' if stored improperly. Check for cracking on the torso sides (armpits) and fading of the white dot-matrix printing on the snout.
Estimated Value
$60.00 - $85.00 for Used; $110.00+ for New/Mint condition. Complete with blaster is essential for top value.
Price (New)
Included in Set 4501, which retailed for $29.99 USD in 2004.
Compatible Sets
4501 Mos Eisley Cantina (the version with the blue dewback packaging).
Character Background
A Rodian bounty hunter working for Jabba the Hutt. He is famous for his confrontation with Han Solo in the Mos Eisley Cantina, sparking the 'Han Shot First' debate among fans.
Design Notes
This figure is a 'transitional' design. It retains the slightly brighter colors of early Star Wars sets but introduced the high-detail arm printing that would become standard in the collector-focused era of LEGO.
Similar Minifigures
Onaconda Farr (sw0237), Wald (sw0328), and newer Greedo versions (sw0297, sw1144).
Collectibility
High. This is considered the 'sweet spot' for many Star Wars collectors because it has more detail than the 2000 version but maintains the charming classic aesthetic that pre-dates the modern realistic style.
History
Debuted as part of the Expanded Trilogy collection in 2003-2004. This was the first update to Greedo in 4 years and remained the definitive version until the 2010 Slave I set was released.
Interesting Facts
The arm printing on this Greedo is remarkably similar to the printing on the legendary Boba Fett (sw0107) from the Cloud City set of the same era, making him very popular for 'completionist' minifigure collectors.
Display Suggestions
Ideal for a Mos Eisley Cantina diorama or a 'Bounty Hunters of the Galaxy' shadow box. Place him opposite a 2004-era Han Solo for maximum historical accuracy.
Modification Potential
Because this Greedo uses a standard neck connection, the head is frequently used for custom Rodian Jedi or Rebels.
Overall Assessment
9/10. An iconic Star Wars figure that represents a peak in LEGO's experimental printing era. A must-have for serious Star Wars collectors and fans of the Original Trilogy.
