Figure ID
sw0092
Theme
Star Wars
Year Released
2007 (First appearing in the 7654 Droids Battle Pack)
Rarity
Uncommon to Rare; while once mass-produced in battle packs, its production was discontinued in favor of the newer sw1269 mold, making original units in good condition highly desirable.
Head
Integrated Head/Torso mold; the head is a small rounded dome with a single indented optical sensor eye, non-removable from the body.
Torso
Pearl Dark Gray large-chested droid body with mechanical detailing; includes two 'straight' droid arms without articulated hands, featuring a specialized ball-joint connection to the shoulders.
Legs
Pearl Dark Gray thin mechanical legs; fused together at the feet for stability, featuring a single clip-style hip connection to the torso.
Accessories
None included in the image; commonly featured without accessories or with a standard black blaster or a rocket-arm attachment in specific sets.
Color Scheme
Monochromatic Pearl Dark Gray; a metallic finish intended to simulate the reinforced hull of the B2-series droid.
Printing Details
No printed details; all character features (mechanical plates, vents, and sensors) are achieved through the physical mold of the plastic.
Variants
sw0092 (Pearl Dark Gray - pictured), sw0008 (Metallic Blue - original 2002 version), and sw1269 (2023 redesigned version with improved arm connections and updated leg mold).
Condition Notes
Extremely prone to 'brittle plastic' syndrome; the sockets on the torso and the clips on the legs are notorious for cracking. Vertical stress marks on the arms are common. Check for loose joints as the friction wears down over time.

Character Background
The B2 Super Battle Droid is a heavy infantry unit used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Unlike the standard B1, they are armored, more intelligent, and feature built-in wrist blasters.
Design Notes
This specific mold (sw0092) was used for over 15 years. It is iconic for its bulky silhouette but criticized by fans for the fragility of the arm-to-torso connection points.
Similar Minifigures
B1 Battle Droid (sw0001), Rocket Battle Droid (sw0228), and the 2023 Super Battle Droid (sw1269).
Collectibility
High; army builders often seek these in large quantities for MOC dioramas. The transition to the newer mold design has increased the nostalgiac value of this specific version.
History
Debut in the 2007 Star Wars 30th Anniversary line. It replaced the 2002 Metallic Blue version to more accurately reflect the 'Revenge of the Sith' and 'Clone Wars' aesthetic.
Interesting Facts
Despite having two arms, most LEGO builds of this character treat the right arm as a 'blaster arm' despite the mold being symmetrical. This is one of the few minifigures that cannot technically sit down.
Display Suggestions
Display in ranks of 4 or 8 to simulate a Separatist army march. Use a trans-clear stand to simulate them being hit by Force push/explosions in battle dioramas.
Modification Potential
Poor for traditional customization, but the arms are frequently swapped for 'blaster arms' from third-party customizers or modified with small trans-red studs to represent firing.
Overall Assessment
7/10. An essential piece for any Star Wars collector, though hampered by the physical fragility of the plastic mold used during this era.
