Rarity
Uncommon. While exclusive to one larger set, it was widely available during its shelf life (2019-2020).
Head
Double-sided printing; one side features a frozen, grimacing face with ice cracks and a glowing trans-blue eye; the other is a standard scowling face. Skin tone is light aqua/sand blue to represent ice corruption.
Torso
Dark red samuari-style armor printing on a sand blue torso. Includes detailed chainmail and leather texture on the back. Sand blue arms with black hands.
Legs
Dark bluish gray legs with dark red and light aqua printing. Patterns include tattered cloth and ice shards/crystalline armor detailing on the hips and upper legs.
Accessories
Includes an exclusive dark red samurai helmet with trans-light blue ice horns/crown (overmolded) and a matching dark red shoulder armor (pauldrons) with trans-light blue ice protrusions. Usually carries an ice-themed weapon (the Scroll of Forbidden Spinjitzu or an ice dagger).
Color Scheme
A striking contrast of dark red and sand blue accented by 'Ice' (Trans-Light Blue) elements representing the corruption of the Never-Realm.
Printing Details
High-quality pad printing on the head, torso, and legs. Notable for the dual-molded/overmolded helmet and armor pieces which combine solid plastic with translucent effects.
Variants
This is the only official version of General Vex. However, other 'Blizzard Samurai' warriors share some of the same armor molds but with different head and leg prints.
Condition Notes
Check for stress marks on the trans-blue protrusions of the helmet and armor. The sand blue plastic is generally durable, but the black hands can occasionally show cracks on the wrist socket.

Originally included in set 70678 (Castle of the Forsaken Emperor) which retailed for $99.99 USD.
Compatible Sets
Set 70678: Castle of the Forsaken Emperor (2019).
Character Background
General Vex was the primary antagonist of the Ice Chapter in Season 11. Originally a Formling who couldn't shapeshift, he manipulated the Ice Emperor (Zane) into conquering the Never-Realm out of spite and bitterness.
Design Notes
The use of translucent overmolding on the armor was a technical highlight for the 2019 Ninjago wave, accurately capturing the 'Frozen' aesthetic of the Blizzard Samurai army.
Similar Minifigures
Blizzard Warrior (njo521), Blizzard Archer (njo519), Blizzard Swordmaster (njo522), and The Ice Emperor (njo544).
Collectibility
High for Ninjago completionists. Vex is a unique 'Big Bad' general and is necessary to complete the Season 11 villain lineup. Potential for value increase as the set has been retired for several years.
History
Vex represents the first major 'Ice' themed villainous faction since the Titanium Ninja arc. It marked a return to more detailed, molded armor pieces for Ninjago antagonists.
Interesting Facts
The character was the first humanoid Ninjago villain to be completely responsible for the series' conflict through manipulation rather than raw power. His helmet mold is considered one of the best samurai-style pieces LEGO has produced.
Display Suggestions
Best displayed on a white or trans-blue baseplate to simulate the Never-Realm. Looks excellent standing next to the Ice Emperor's throne.
Modification Potential
The helmet and shoulder armor are highly sought after for MOCs (My Own Creations) involving fantasy ice-knights or custom samurai warriors.
Overall Assessment
A standout minifigure of the 2019 era. Between the unique color palette and the specialized dual-molded armor, General Vex is a premium figure that holds its value well and is essential for any Ninjago collection.
