Ant-Man (Scott Lang) - Light Bluish Gray Suit

Figure ID

sh201

Theme

Marvel Super Heroes

Year Released

2015

Rarity

Uncommon. Exclusive to a single LEGO set from the first Ant-Man film, though the set was widely available at the time, the figure has since retired.

Head

Light Flesh color with black goggles/visor and a printed chin strap. This head piece is unique to this character and depicts Scott Lang wearing the undersuit headgear.

Torso

Light Bluish Gray with detailed mechanical suit printing including lines, a belt with a circular buckle, and back printing. The arms are Light Bluish Gray with black hands.

Legs

Light Bluish Gray with printing that continues the suit detail from the torso onto the hip and upper leg area.

Accessories

Missing in image. Originally included a unique molded Ant-Man helmet (Part 19720) in Trans-Red and Pearl Dark Gray, plus a neck bracket for wing attachment.

Color Scheme

Primary Light Bluish Gray with Black and Silver accents. The design mimics the internal jumpsuit worn under the shrinking tech.

Printing Details

High-quality pad printing on the head, torso (front and back), and the hip piece. The detail is dense with fine mechanical lines characteristic of the 2015 MCU wave.

Variants

This is the 'suit' variant. Others include the micro-scale trophy figure and the version with the full red/black tactical suit from later films.

Condition Notes

Common wear points include silver print rubbing off the belt and stress marks on the torso sides. The head printing is resilient but the goggle edges can scratch.

Estimated Value

$10.00 - $18.00 USD (Used/Complete with helmet); $5.00 - $8.00 USD (Incomplete as shown without helmet).

Price (New)

Came in set 76039 Ant-Man Final Battle, which retailed for $19.99 USD in 2015.

Compatible Sets

76039 Ant-Man Final Battle (2015).

Character Background

Scott Lang, a former thief turned hero, wearing the Pym Tech suit. This specific look represents the training or 'internal' layer of the Ant-Man suit seen in the 2015 movie.

Design Notes

The use of Light Bluish Gray was a departure from his iconic red look, intended to represent the technical/undersuit aspect of the shrinking technology.

Similar Minifigures

Yellowjacket (sh200), Hank Pym (Black suit), and Ant-Man (sh164 - full red suit).

Collectibility

High for Marvel MCU completionists. Set 76039 was produced in relatively low quantities compared to Avengers sets, making this version of Scott Lang quite desirable.

History

Launched as part of the first Ant-Man movie wave. It marked the introduction of the new helmet mold which became a staple for the character's LEGO evolution.

Interesting Facts

The set this figure came in was famously hard to find at retail toward the end of its life, causing the aftermarket price of this figure to spike shortly after retirement.

Display Suggestions

Display alongside the giant-sized buildable LEGO brick 'screw' and Ant-Thony the flying ant from the original set to recreate the final battle scene.

Modification Potential

The head is an excellent part for custom 'pilot' or 'special forces' minifigures due to the generic goggle design.

Overall Assessment

A solid Marvel minifigure with high-detail printing. While the pictured figure is missing the essential helmet, the torso and head remain iconic pieces of the early MCU LEGO collection.
