Year Released
2015. This minifigure debuted during the 'Possession' wave, a peak era for Ninjago popularity that introduced the Airjitzu play feature.
Rarity
Uncommon to Rare. While it appeared in two retail sets, the high demand for 'Golden Lloyd' variants and the specific pearl gold color make it difficult to find in mint condition.
Head
The head is yellow with green eyes and a determined expression. It features a dual-sided print with a 'battle-ready' look on one side. It is topped with a two-part Pearl Gold ninja wrap/shroud with a dark green headband print.
Torso
Pearl Gold torso with intricate front and back printing. The design features a dark green sash with gold buckles, two crossed silver katanas on the back, and a dual dragon motif in metallic gold on the front chest.
Legs
Pearl Gold legs with dark green belt printing and gold armor plating details on the knees. The printing is crisp and follows the aesthetic of the Season 5 'Deepstone' robes but in a gold colorway.
Accessories
Includes a Pearl Gold Dao sword (sabre). In original sets, he often came with additional golden katanas or an Airjitzu flyer base. The golden sword is a staple for this character variant.
Color Scheme
The primary color is Pearl Gold, with Dark Green accents to represent Lloyd's status as the Green Ninja. Metallic gold and silver inks are used for fine printing details.
Printing Details
High-quality pad printing on the torso (front and back), legs (front), and the headgear. The alignment is generally excellent, typical of 2015-era Ninjago figures.
Variants
This is the 'Possession' version. Other Golden Lloyd variants include the 2013 'The Final Battle' version (njo073), the 2019 Legacy version (njo494), and the 10th Anniversary version (njo636).
Condition Notes
Pearl Gold plastic is prone to visible scratches and 'swirl marks' from production. Common wear includes silvering on the green belt printing and stress marks on the torso sides/arms.
Estimated Value
Used: $15-$25 USD; New/Mint: $30-$45 USD. Prices fluctuate based on the condition of the gold plastic and the tightness of the joints.

Character Background
Lloyd Garmadon is the legendary Golden Ninja and the Elemental Master of Energy. In the Possession season, he is briefly possessed by Morro, but this figure represents his powerful golden form used to fight back.
Design Notes
This figure uses the refined ninja wrap mold introduced in 2014. It is a transitionary design between the early 'Classic' suits and the later 'Movie' aesthetic.
Similar Minifigures
njo073 (Golden Ninja 2013), njo494 (Legacy Golden Ninja), and other Possession-era ninja such as Kai (njo150) or Jay (njo152).
Collectibility
High. Golden Ninja variants are the most collected subset within Ninjago. It holds stable value and is a centerpiece for any Lloyd Garmadon collection.
History
First released in Summer 2015. It marked a return to the 'Golden Ninja' concept which had been a fan favorite since the 2013 wave.
Interesting Facts
Despite being called the 'Golden Ninja,' the figure uses Pearl Gold plastic rather than the Metallic Gold finish used on some 10th-anniversary figures, making it more durable for play.
Display Suggestions
Best displayed on a transparent stand to simulate his 'Airjitzu' flight, or alongside other Golden Ninja variants in a chronological display case.
Modification Potential
Excellent for 'Golden' MOCs. The torso and legs are frequently used by customizers to create high-ranking gold armor for knights or space royalty.
Overall Assessment
A standout Ninjago figure that captures a pivotal moment in the show's lore. Its strong color scheme and detailed printing make it a 'buy' for serious Ninjago collectors.
