Goat Herd (Series 25)

Figure ID

col25-1

Theme

Collectible Minifigures

Year Released

2024 (January debut, representing a milestone return of the LEGO goat mold)

Rarity

Uncommon in the wild, but highly sought after. Since the transition to cardboard boxes, it is harder to identify without scanning codes.

Head

Single-sided print with a gentle, bearded smile and light brown eyebrows. Skin tone is light flesh. Includes a dark tan hood/cowl piece.

Torso

Dark blue rustic tunic with printed leather-like pouches, rope belt, and white undershirt showing at the neck. Back printing continues the belt and tunic details.

Legs

Plain white mid-length legs (static/non-poseable) representing a tunic or simple trousers appropriate for a medieval setting.

Accessories

The primary accessory is the white LEGO goat with dark tan horns. Also includes a shepherd's staff (crook) and a black 3x4 display baseplate.

Color Scheme

A rustic palette featuring white, dark blue, dark tan, and reddish brown, designed to fit seamlessly into a medieval or castle-themed display.

Printing Details

High-quality pad printing typical of CMF series. Features crisp details on the torso pouches and facial expressions, though the legs are unprinted.

Variants

This is the primary version; however, the goat accessory is a modern reissue of the legendary 2011 Mill Village Raid goat, now in a slightly different plastic finish.

Condition Notes

The box in the image shows slight shelf wear on the edges. Inside, the paper bag packaging for the goat is prone to folding, but the figure itself is durable.

Estimated Value

New in box: $5-10 USD; Secondary market for the goat alone: $4-6 USD. Prices remain stable due to high volume production.

Price (New)

$4.99 USD (Retail price per blind box)

Compatible Sets

71045 Collectible Minifigures Series 25; fits perfectly with 10332 Medieval Town Square or 10305 Lion Knights' Castle.

Character Background

A humble shepherd/goat herd. This figure is a direct tribute to the LEGO fan community's long-standing obsession with the 'retired' goat mold from over a decade ago.

Design Notes

The goat mold remains largely identical to the 2011 version but produced in current-spec LEGO plastic. The minifigure design is intentionally 'generic' to allow for army building.

Similar Minifigures

Series 15 Farmer, Series 24 Carrot Mascot (for the farm vibe), and various Medieval peasants from the Castle theme.

Collectibility

Extremely high. This was the 'chase' figure of Series 25 because collectors wanted to stock up on goats for their medieval dioramas.

History

Released as part of the transition to sustainable cardboard packaging. This figure made headlines for the 'Return of the Goat' after 13 years of absence from the LEGO catalog.

Interesting Facts

The data matrix code (scannable QR) on the box shown in the image (6623274 714R6) allowed users to identify the contents before opening, a major development for the CMF line.

Display Suggestions

Best displayed in a medieval village scene or a farm MOC. Use green baseplates with foliage to create a pasture for the goat.

Modification Potential

Excellent for purist customs; the torso is perfect for villagers, blacksmiths, or travelers in any fantasy or historical setting.

Overall Assessment

10/10 for fan service. While the figure is simple, the inclusion of the goat makes this one of the most important CMF releases of the 2020s.
