Theme
Collectible Minifigures
Year Released
2023. Released as part of the January wave of blind boxes, celebrating 45 years of the minifigure.
Rarity
Uncommon. While part of a mass-produced blind-box series, the high demand from 'army builders' for Castle themes makes it harder to find in the secondary market compared to other figures in the same wave.
Head
Standard yellow skin tone with a determined expression, white pupils, and thin black eyebrows. The head is obscured by a Pearl Dark Gray great helmet with a chin guard and narrow eye-slits.
Torso
Yellow and Black split (quartered) design featuring the Raven crest. Includes fine chainmail printing at the neck and a brown belt with a silver stud buckle. Arms are Pearl Dark Gray (silver) to represent plate armor, with red hands.
Legs
Yellow and Black split hips and upper legs. Features detailed printing of armor plates on the shins in Pearl Dark Gray and jagged fabric hems on the tunic.
Accessories
Includes a Pearl Dark Gray sword (claymore style), a large heater shield with the Fright Knights Raven sigil, and a vibrant Red plume (feather) that attaches to the top of the helmet.
Color Scheme
Primary colors are Yellow, Black, and Pearl Dark Gray, with a Red accent provided by the plume and hands. This mirrors the 1997 Fright Knights palette.
Printing Details
High-quality pad printing on the front and back of the torso, as well as the front of the legs. The shield print is exceptionally crisp with a red border around the yellow field.
Variants
No official LEGO variants of this specific Col24-7 figure exist, though it is a modern reimagining of the classic 1990s Basil the Bat Lord's minions.
Condition Notes
The Pearl Dark Gray plastic is prone to showing minor surface scratches (play wear). Check the neck of the plume and the clip on the shield for stress marks or whitening.
Estimated Value
New/Sealed: $6 - $10 USD. Used Complete: $5 - $8 USD. Prices remain stable due to the high demand for medieval-themed figures.
Price (New)
$4.99 USD (MSRP of a single Series 24 blind bag/box).
Compatible Sets
71037-7 (Series 24 Individual Bag), 66733 (Series 24 6-Pack). Designed to pair with 10305 Lion Knights' Castle.
Character Background
This figure is a direct tribute to the 'Fright Knights' sub-theme of the late 90s. While not Basil the Bat Lord himself, he represents a high-ranking soldier or knight in that faction's army.
Design Notes
Features a unique heater shield mold and a redesigned Great Helmet. It utilizes modern 'split-leg' printing which wasn't available during the original Fright Knights era.
Similar Minifigures
Basil the Bat Lord (kn007), Series 23 Knight of the Yellow Castle (col23-9), Series 15 Frightening Knight (col15-5).
Collectibility
Very High. Medieval and 'Castle' themes have the strongest secondary market retention among LEGO fans, especially those looking to 'army build' factions.
History
Based on the 1997-1998 Fright Knights line. This figure is part of LEGO's recent trend of updating classic '90s factions for adult collectors.
Interesting Facts
The raven on the shield is the original 1997 emblem, but resized and cleaned up for modern printing standards. It is one of the most popular 'army builder' figures in CMF history.
Display Suggestions
Looks best when displayed in a group (3-5 figures) to form a squad. Pairs perfectly on a shelf next to the 90th Anniversary Lion Knights' Castle or the Medieval Market Village.
Modification Potential
Highly versatile. The arms and helmet are often swapped by fans to create custom 'Black Falcon' or 'Lion Knight' variants using the silver plate-armor aesthetic.
Overall Assessment
A 10/10 figure for Castle fans. It combines nostalgia with modern printing tech and superior accessory molds. Highly recommended for any serious minifigure collector.
