Rise of the Snakes (Season 1) · 2012 (released in several sets throughout the year)

Figure ID
njo050
Theme
Ninjago
Year Released
2012 (released in several sets throughout the year)
Rarity
Common to Uncommon. While Lasha appeared in four sets, he is a generic grunt character, making him easier to find than the Serpentine Generals but still highly sought after as a retired soldier from a popular early NinjaGo era.
Head
Lime green snake head piece with a large cobra-style hood. Features yellow eyes, black pupils, and scale printing in dark green and red. The head is a single specialized mold rather than a standard minifigure head and hair combo.
Torso
Lime green torso with dark green scale pattern. It features a black sash across the chest holding two red 'venom' pouches or grenades. The back features continued scale texture and the dark green sash strap. Arms are lime green with black hands.
Legs
Lime green legs and hips. The printing on the front shows the bottom of the black sash and dark green scale textures that align with the torso printing.
Accessories
Usually paired with a silver-gray short sword, an axe, or a Serpentine staff depending on the set, though none are shown in the image.
Color Scheme
Primary Lime Green with Dark Green, Red, and Black accents. This bright 'toxic' palette is synonymous with the Venomari tribe.
Printing Details
High-quality pad printing typical of the 2012 era. Alignment across the torso and hips is usually excellent. The printing on the specialized head mold is notably sharp despite the non-flat surface.
Variants
There are no major printing variants for njo050; however, Lasha was updated in 2019 (njo497) for the Ninjago Legacy line with significantly different, more detailed printing and a different head mold.
Condition Notes
Watch for paint rubbing on the 'nose' area of the headpiece and the tips of the cobra hood. Check for cracks in the lime green torso (sides) and heels, as lime green plastic from this era can occasionally be brittle.
Estimated Value
Used: $4.00 - $7.00 USD; New: $10.00 - $15.00 USD. Prices fluctuate based on the popularity of the 'Rise of the Snakes' nostalgic collectors.

9447 Lasha’s Bite Cycle, 9448 Samurai Mech, 9449 Ultra Sonic Raider, 9562 Lasha (Spinner set).
Character Background
Lasha is a scout for the Venomari, one of the five Serpentine tribes. In the TV show, he is known for being somewhat clumsy and serves as a foot soldier under General Spitta and the Great Devourer.
Design Notes
The 2012 Serpentine used a unique rubbery/plastic hybrid head mold. The venom pouches on the torso are a distinct visual trait of the Venomari soldiers compared to the Hypnobrai or Fangpyre tribes.
Similar Minifigures
Spitta (njo043), Fang-Suei (njo052), Snike (njo063), Mezmo (njo041).
Collectibility
High for Ninjago completionists. The original five Serpentine tribes are considered a 'golden era' for Ninjago collectors and are essential for displaying the Season 1 villains.
History
Launched in the second year of Ninjago, the Serpentine were the first major expansion of the theme's lore beyond the initial Skulkin army, introducing specialized molds that moved away from traditional hats/hair.
Interesting Facts
Despite being a 'minion' character, Lasha was given his own 'spinner' set (9562), which was the primary way many children acquired him during the height of the Ninjago card game craze.
Display Suggestions
Display alongside other Venomari members in a jungle-themed MOC or on a tiered riser with the five Serpentine Generals (Pythor, Acidicus, Skalidor, Fangtom, and Skales).
Modification Potential
The headpiece is highly useful for fantasy MOCs or lizard-folk characters in Dungeons & Dragons style builds. The lime green color is distinct and hard to match exactly with third-party scales.
Overall Assessment
A quintessential Ninjago villain from the theme's most iconic early period. While not the most expensive figure, his design is vibrant and instantly recognizable. An 8/10 for any Ninjago enthusiast.
