Ewok Warrior
sw0236 · Star Wars
Episode VI: Return of the Jedi · 2009 (Released in the 8038 Battle of Endor set)

Figure ID
sw0236
Theme
Star Wars
Year Released
2009 (Released in the 8038 Battle of Endor set)
Rarity
Uncommon; it was unique to a large, relatively expensive set during its release window, though many Ewok variants exist.
Head
Reddish Brown Hood with tan face printing; features light aqua eyes and white fur highlights around the mouth. The hood and face are a single molded part.
Torso
Reddish Brown with fur texture printing on the front; features dark brown vertical lines to simulate hair. Back is plain reddish brown.
Legs
Short fixed legs in Reddish Brown (non-articulated), typical for shorter Star Wars species.
Accessories
Usually paired with a brown spear or bow (missing in image). The hood itself is considered the primary head accessory/part.
Color Scheme
Monochromatic Reddish Brown with accents of Tan and Dark Brown printing.
Printing Details
Pad printed face with high detail for the 2009 era, including distinct eye color and muzzle highlights. Torso printing is simple vertical fur lines.
Variants
Similar to sw0237 (Chief Chirpa) which has a gray hood, and sw0067 (classic 2002 version) which had much simpler dot eyes.
Condition Notes
Prone to 'torso cracks' on the sides under the arms. Short legs can lose clutch power over time. The reddish-brown plastic from this era is occasionally brittle.
Estimated Value
Used: $5 - $8 USD; New: $10 - $15 USD. The value is stable as collectors often seek to army-build Ewoks.
Price (New)
Originally part of set 8038 which retailed for $99.99 USD in 2009.
Compatible Sets
8038 The Battle of Endor (2009)
Character Background
Ancestors of the Forest Moon of Endor, these primitive hunters helped the Rebel Alliance defeat the Galactic Empire during the Battle of Endor.
Design Notes
This version marked a transition from the 'dot-eye' classic Ewoks to more expressive, film-accurate faces with colored pupils.
Similar Minifigures
sw0237 Chief Chirpa, sw0338 Logray, sw0508 Wicket, sw0511 Teebo.
Collectibility
Moderate; essential for completing a Battle of Endor diorama, but not the rarest Ewok compared to Chief Chirpa or Princess Leia versions.
History
Part of the 10th anniversary wave of LEGO Star Wars, which updated many 'Classic' trilogy characters with more detailed prints.
Interesting Facts
This specific Ewok is often referred to as a 'generic' warrior, despite having a unique face print compared to the named characters in the same set.
Display Suggestions
Best displayed in a forest-themed MOC or on a 10th Anniversary display stand alongside 2009-era Rebel Commandos.
Modification Potential
Hoods can be swapped with other Ewoks to create custom tribe members. The torso is excellent for generic animal or 'furry' MOCs.
Overall Assessment
A solid, era-defining minifigure. While it lacks the leg printing of modern 2023+ Ewoks, it remains a nostalgic favorite for collectors of the 2009-2012 era.
