Half-sphere white R-series droid dome with Lime Green and Dark Red markings and a black primary photoreceptor.

Torso

Dark Red astromech droid body with silver and lime green panels and instrumentation printing on front and back.

Legs

Standard Dark Red astromech droid legs (right and left) without printing.

Accessories

None included; standard astromech droids typically do not come with handheld items.

Color Scheme

Primary Dark Red body with Lime Green and Silver accent printing on a White dome.

Printing Details

Pad-printed dome and torso. Fine silver line work for vents and lime green accents for sensor panels. Higher detail than original 1999 R2-D2.

Variants

None known for this specific R7 unit; however, it is frequently confused with R4-G9 which has a similar color palette but reversed patterns.

Condition Notes

Prone to yellowing on the white dome if exposed to UV. Check for 'neck' wear where the dome revolves and potential chipping on the Dark Red leg plastic.

Estimated Value

Used: $6.00 - $12.00; New (from set): $15.00 - $25.00 depending on mint condition of the print.

Price (New)

Originally included in sets retailing for $19.99 (7256) and $24.99 (8016).

Compatible Sets

7256 Jedi Starfighter and Vulture Droid (2005) and 8016 Hyena Droid Bomber (2009).

Character Background

R7-D4 was the personal astromech droid for Jedi Master Plo Koon, serving in his Delta-7B Aethersprite-class light interceptor during the Clone Wars.

Design Notes

Utilizes the classic three-piece astromech build. The silver ink used in the mid-2000s has a distinct metallic flake compared to modern flat silver prints.

Similar Minifigures

R7-A7 (Ahsoka's droid), R4-G9, and R2-D2. Collectors often group them by R-series designation.

Collectibility

Moderate. High demand for completionists of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars line and droid enthusiasts.

History

Debuted in the Revenge of the Sith line (2005) before being rebranded under The Clone Wars banner for its second set appearance.

Interesting Facts

Despite being Plo Koon's droid in lore, it was first packaged with Anakin Skywalker's starfighter in the 7256 set.

Display Suggestions

Best displayed next to Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter or in a 'Droid Depot' style MOC with various R-series units.

Modification Potential

Domes and legs are interchangeable with any other LEGO astromech, making it a popular base for 'Mek-Quans' customs.

Overall Assessment

A solid, mid-tier collectible droid that adds a unique pop of Dark Red and Lime Green to any Star Wars collection. Grade: 7/10.
