Head

Bright green head with yellow eyes, sharp white teeth, and green lines for muscle definition. Features a unique purple hat mold with integrated large green pointed goblin ears.

Dark purple torso with bright green arms and dark purple hands. Front printing features scale-like armor plating, a gold belt buckle, and a brown strap for his satchel.

Plain dark purple legs with no printing, matching the traditional comic book aesthetic.

Color Scheme

Classic Green and Purple. Features Bright Green skin/arms and Dark Purple clothing, accented by a brown satchel and gold belt detail.

Printing Details

High-quality pad printing on the head and torso. The torso features intricate metallic-like highlights on the purple scales and a crisp transition between the green neck and purple collar.

Variants

This is the 'Comic' version. Other variants include the 2002 Sam Raimi movie version (spd005) with metallic armor, the 2017 Mighty Micros version (sh347), and the 2023 No Way Home version (sh887).

Condition Notes

Common wear points include 'silvering' or fading on the torso printing scales and hair/ear tip paint rub. Check for stress cracks in the purple heels and torso sides.

Character Background

Norman Osborn, one of Spider-Man's most iconic arch-nemeses. This design is heavily inspired by his classic Marvel Comics 'silver age' appearance and the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series style.

Design Notes

This version introduced the specific purple hat/green ear combo mold. Prior to this, LEGO used a separate hat and head piece. The scaling on the torso is a significant improvement over the 2002 version.

Similar Minifigures

sh011 Green Goblin (2012 Legacy), sh887 Green Goblin (No Way Home), and sh544 Hobgoblin.

Collectibility

High. Essential for any 'Sinister Six' collection or Comic-style Marvel display. It remains one of the most accurate comic-book representations of the character.

History

Followed the 2012 'Big Figure' Green Goblin from the Ultimate Spider-Man line. This 2014 version returned the character to a standard minifigure scale with updated molding technology for the headgear.

Interesting Facts

The satchel is a 'left-hand' strap accessory, which can sometimes interfere with hair pieces on other figures, but it fits perfectly under the Goblin hat mold.

Display Suggestions

Display on a clear acrylic rod to simulate flight on his glider. Best paired with the 2014-era Daily Bugle or a classic Spider-Man figure (sh038).

Modification Potential

Excellent for purist customs; the head and hat are frequently used to create other goblin-like creatures or fantasy Orcs for Castle MOCs.

Overall Assessment

A top-tier Marvel minifigure. It captures the 'goblin' essence perfectly with a unique mold. Rating: 8.5/10 for design and accuracy.
