Color Scheme

Primary: Olive Green. Accents: Brown, Yellow (straps), Flat Silver (buckles), and Light Flesh (skin).

Printing Details

High-quality pad printing on torso and legs. The yellow straps on the olive base are known for being slightly transparent/dull due to light ink over dark plastic, but alignment is generally precise.

Variants

Numerous. Variants include a blue vest (jw020), a ragged leather vest (jw063), a grey shirt version, and a dual-molded leg version in more expensive sets.

Condition Notes

The olive green plastic hides dirt well but shows stress marks easily. Check for 'cracking' on the torso sides under the arms. The silver hand paint can wear down to grey plastic over time.

Character Background

Owen Grady is a Navy veteran and dinosaur ethologist who trained the Velociraptor pack (Blue, Delta, Echo, Charlie) at Jurassic World. He is portrayed by Chris Pratt in the films.

Design Notes

LEGO chose Olive Green to represent Owen's rugged, outdoorsy aesthetic. The pocket printing on the legs was a major step up in detail for human licensed characters in 2015.

Similar Minifigures

Star-Lord (Marvel) - also uses Chris Pratt's likeness; Alan Grant (Jurassic Park); Various Jurassic World ACU troopers.

Collectibility

Moderate. While high in volume, he is an essential 'anchor' character for any Jurassic World collection. Demand is stable but suppressed by high supply.

History

Launched in 2015 to coincide with the revival of the Jurassic franchise. This figure marked the transition into modern highly-detailed licensed printing style.

Interesting Facts

The 'stressed' face side is often used by fans to recreate the 'Raptor Squad' alpha pose scene. The head mold has become the 'de facto' Chris Pratt face for LEGO.

Display Suggestions

Display alongside 'Blue' the Velociraptor. A jungle-themed vignette with Tropical greenery pieces highlights the olive green color scheme well.

Modification Potential

Excellent. The olive legs and torso are popular for military MOCs. The head is frequently used for custom Star-Lord or Indiana Jones minifigures.

Overall Assessment

A quintessential 2010s licensed minifigure. While common and currently missing its hairpiece, it remains a solid representation of a cultural icon. Recommendation: Buy only if completing a specific set, as complete versions are very affordable.
