Krazi (Skeleton)

Figure ID

njo008

Theme

Ninjago

Year Released

2011 (Part of the initial Ninjago launch wave)

Rarity

Uncommon. While he appeared in two sets, he is part of the retired 2011 skeleton army and is highly sought after by completionists.

Head

Yellow head with unique 'Krazi' printing featuring a maniacal lopsided grin, raised eyebrow, and a small scar/stitch mark on the forehead. Lacks standard skeleton eye sockets.

Torso

Skeleton Torso with loose, dangling arms (hinge joint). The torso has standard skeletal rib cage molding with no additional printing.

Legs

Standard white skeleton legs with two-toed feet and square hip connection. No printing on legs.

Accessories

Missing in image. Originally came with a black Jesters Cap (Fool's Cap) and typically carried a lightning-themed weapon or a standard bone.

Color Scheme

White skeletal body with a vibrant Yellow head and Black headgear (missing).

Printing Details

High-quality pad printing on the face only. The offset grin and eyebrow provide character personality that was a hallmark of the early Ninjago villains.

Variants

There is a 'Shintaro' version of Krazi (njo605) from 2020 which features significantly updated printing and more detailed armor.

Condition Notes

The arm and leg hinge joints are notorious for becoming loose over time, causing 'floppy' limbs. The white plastic is prone to yellowing if exposed to UV light.

Estimated Value

Used: $5.00 - $8.00; New: $12.00 - $15.00. The head piece carries the majority of the value for this specific figure.

Price (New)

N/A (Individual figure). Came in sets priced at $4.99 (Spinner) and $69.99 (Garmadon's Dark Fortress).

Compatible Sets

2116 Krazi (Spinner Set), 2505 Garmadon's Dark Fortress.

Character Background

Krazi is the Skeleton General of Lightning and a member of Samukai's Skulkin Army. He is known for being unpredictable and hyperactive, often laughing uncontrollably during battle.

Design Notes

Uses the 2011-era skeleton body mold which replaced the classic 1990s 'floppy arm' skeletons with slightly more friction in the ball joints, though still less stable than standard minifigure torsos.

Similar Minifigures

Frakjaw (njo005), Chopov (njo003), Bonezai (njo004), and other Skulkin warriors from the 2011 wave.

Collectibility

High for Ninjago fans. The 2011 'OG' Skulkin army members are iconic and foundational to the theme's history.

History

Krazi was part of the very first wave of Ninjago in 2011, a theme that was originally intended to last only three years but became LEGO's most successful internal IP.

Interesting Facts

Krazi’s head depicts him as having skin or a physical face, unlike the other Skulkin who have hollow-eyed skull heads, highlighting his 'crazy' persona.

Display Suggestions

Display alongside other Skulkin generals (Wyplash, Chopov, Frakjaw) or inside a 2505 Dark Fortress display. Use a 1x2 plate to secure the feet as the joints can be brittle.

Modification Potential

Excellent for 'undead' MOCs. The yellow head can be swapped onto a jester body to create a 'living' version of the character.

Overall Assessment

A classic Ninjago villain with a unique expression. This specific unit is missing its signature jester hat, which significantly impacts its aesthetic and value, but the rare head print is in good condition.
