Year Released

2014; Rogon appeared in several sets that year following the introduction of the Rhino tribe as allies to the Crocodiles.

Rarity

Common to Uncommon; though the Chima line is retired, Rogon appeared in multiple mid-priced sets and a promotional polybag during his run.

Head

Unique molded Rhino head piece in Light Bluish Gray with a white horn, yellow eyes (one scarred), and black tribal markings. Underneath is a standard Light Bluish Gray minifigure head with dual-sided printing (angry and determined expressions).

Torso

Light Bluish Gray torso featuring elaborate dark green and silver mechanical armor plating, intricate chain mail printing, and a rear print showing more armor plating.

Legs

Light Bluish Gray legs with dark green and silver detailed printing representing heavy plate armor, toe details on the feet, and continued chain mail texture from the torso.

Accessories

Includes 'CHI' chest armor (Metallic Silver) with a transparent light blue 1x1 round plate 'CHI' orb. Depending on the set, he usually carries a large hammer known as the 'Rock Flinger' or a stone-based weapon.

Color Scheme

Primary Colors: Light Bluish Gray. Accent Colors: Dark Green, Metallic Silver, White, and Transparent Light Blue.

Printing Details

Highly detailed pad printing covering the torso (front and back) and legs (front). The printing is crisp, featuring 'scuffed' metal effects and intricate chain mail typical of the 2014 Chima design peak.

Variants

There are four main variants: loc075 (standard), loc091 (fire-wing/Eris-style variant), loc061 (without chest armor), and a version in the Chima 70131 set.

Condition Notes

Common wear points include the rubbery tip of the Rhino horn which can become discolored, and 'cape-wear' stress on the torso if used. Check for scratches on the silver CHI armor piece.

Estimated Value

Used: $4.00 - $6.00; New/Sealed: $10.00 - $14.00. Individual head pieces are often the most valuable part of this figure.

Price (New)

Rogon was included in Rogon’s Rock Flinger (70131) for $29.99 and Scorm’s Scorpion Stinger (70132) for $39.99.

Compatible Sets

70131 (Rogon’s Rock Flinger), 70132 (Scorm’s Scorpion Stinger), 70135 (Cragger's Fire Striker), 30252 (Crug's Swamp Boat polybag - variant).

Character Background

Rogon is the slow-witted but incredibly strong leader of the Rhino Tribe. He is known for his 'rock-solid' logic and tendency to speak in third-person.

Design Notes

The Rhino head mold is a masterpiece of dual-material molding, capturing the heavy, textured look of a rhinoceros while maintaining LEGO's 'cartoon' aesthetic for Chima.

Similar Minifigures

Runk (loc076), Rukus (loc077), and the Rhino tribe members from the Fire vs. Ice wave.

Collectibility

Moderate; Legends of Chima has a dedicated cult following, but values remain stable rather than skyrocketing like Star Wars or Ninjago exclusives.

History

Initially introduced as neutral parties, the Rhinos became key allies. This figure represents the transition to more complex, armor-heavy printing in the mid-life of the Chima theme.

Interesting Facts

In the TV series, Rogon and his tribe are often depicted as having a lower intelligence level compared to Lions or Wolves, which is reflected in his scarred/clumsy eye-printing.

Display Suggestions

Best displayed alongside other tribe leaders (Laval, Cragger, Worriz) or within a rocky MOC terrain to highlight the 'stone' theme of the Rhino tribe.

Modification Potential

The headpiece is frequently used by MOC builders for creating custom Dungeons & Dragons 'Loxodon' or 'Rhinoman' fantasy characters.

Overall Assessment

A high-quality figure with excellent mold work and complex printing. A must-have for Chima completists and a great value for fantasy/creature collectors.
