Two-Face, Orange and Purple Suit

Figure ID

bat004

Theme

Batman

Year Released

2006 (Debut in 7781 Two-Face's Escape)

Rarity

Rare. This is the original 2006 version, which was retired in 2008. It is highly sought after by collectors for its iconic 90s aesthetic.

Head

Light Flesh color with dual-printing: one side shows Harvey Dent's normal facial expression, the other shows the purple scarred 'Two-Face' side with a white pupil/angry eye and clenched teeth.

Torso

Dual-printed suit design: left side (our right) is dark purple, right side (our left) is orange. Features a dark purple tie, white shirt collar, and a white pocket square on the purple side.

Legs

Split color legs: right leg (our left) is orange, left leg (our right) is dark purple. The hips are dark purple.

Accessories

Typically comes with two dark bluish gray revolvers and/or a silver coin (printed tile), though only one revolver is shown in the image. Hairpiece (not shown in image) should be a black 'Swept Back' piece (part 4093).

Color Scheme

Bright Orange and Dark Purple, echoing the character's appearance in Batman: The Animated Series and 90s comics. Accents include white and dark purple.

Printing Details

High-quality pad printing typical of the mid-2000s. Clean lines on the suit lapels and crisp differentiation between the light flesh and purple scarring on the face.

Variants

This is the classic original. Later versions include sh007 (Dark Bluish Gray/White suit) and sh632 (2020 version with more detailed 50/50 print and hair).

Condition Notes

Prone to cracking in the torso under the arms and stress marks on the light flesh neck. Orange and purple plastic are generally UV stable but the white printing on the torso can fade or scratch.

Estimated Value

Used (Complete): $50 - $70 USD. New/Mint: $90+ USD. The specific figure in the image is missing its hair, reducing value to roughly $35 - $45.

Price (New)

Originally released in set 7781 which retailed for $29.99 in 2006. The figure was not available individually or in polybags.

Compatible Sets

7781 Two-Face's Escape (2006).

Character Background

Harvey Dent, former DA of Gotham City, turned criminal mastermind after being scarred by acid. This color scheme represents his most iconic 'Modern Age' comic book look.

Design Notes

Bold 50/50 split design. This was one of the first Batman villains LEGO produced, utilizing a high-contrast palette to make the figure stand out against the darker Batman sets.

Similar Minifigures

sh007 Two-Face (Grey suit), sh632 Two-Face (Modern), and the original 2006 Joker (bat005) for completionists of the original line.

Collectibility

High. The 2006 Batman line (before the theme became 'DC Super Heroes') is considered a 'Golden Age' for LEGO collectors. This figure is a cornerstone of that era.

History

First appearance of Two-Face as a LEGO minifigure. This design influenced the look of the character in the first LEGO Batman Video Game (2008).

Interesting Facts

The orange and purple suit is often preferred by fans over the more realistic gray/white versions because it captures the 'comic book' essence of the theme's debut.

Display Suggestions

Display in a UV-protected case alongside the 2006 Batman and Robin to recreate the classic comic aesthetic. Pair with an orange and purple custom background.

Modification Potential

Good for 'purist' MOCs. The split legs and torso are frequently used by customizers to create other 'half-and-half' villains like Deathstroke.

Overall Assessment

A top-tier collector's item. Despite the missing hairpiece in the photo, the print and plastic quality of this bat004 figure remains one of LEGO's most distinctive efforts.
