Printing Details

High-quality pad printing typical of the 2018 era. Features significant detail on the torso including tiny buckle highlights and texture on the tactical vest. Alignment is generally excellent.

Variants

There are numerous Cole variants, but this 'S.O.G.' version is distinct due to the tactical vest and the specific scar patterns introduced during the 8th season of the TV show.

Condition Notes

Common wear points include the silver printing on the buckles which can flake over time. Check for 'arm cracks' on the dark blue torso and neck-pin stress marks. Torso and leg printing in the photo appears in great condition.

Character Background

Cole is the Elemental Master of Earth. In this sub-theme, he is part of the ninja team fighting the Sons of Garmadon, a criminal syndicate attempting to resurrect Lord Garmadon. This look reflects his more rugged, post-movie redesign appearances.

Design Notes

The S.O.G. outfits moved the Ninja away from traditional gi designs toward tactical mission gear. This version utilized the new hairpiece mold introduced for the LEGO Ninjago Movie.

Similar Minifigures

Cole - Hunted (njo461), Cole - Kimono (njo073), and other ninja in S.O.G. tactical gear like Lloyd (njo394) or Kai (njo391).

Collectibility

Moderate to High. This specific variant is desirable because it only appeared in one set and belongs to one of the most highly-regarded narrative arcs (Season 8) in Ninjago history.

History

Released in 2018 during a transition period where Ninjago characters adopted their LEGO Ninjago Movie appearances for the TV series continuity, bridging the gap between fans of both.

Interesting Facts

The 'scars' on his face are actually intended to be remnants of his 'Day of the Departed' ghost form, showing his evolution from a ghost back to human form with lingering effects.

Display Suggestions

Best displayed with the other S.O.G. tactical ninja or alongside the 'Oni Masks' from the same era. A rocky outcrop MOC (My Own Creation) base fits his Earth Master persona.

Modification Potential

The tactical torso is highly popular for 'Tactical' or 'Spec Ops' custom minifigures because the printing is generic enough to work for non-Ninjago military/police MOCs.

Overall Assessment

A top-tier Cole variant with fantastic printing detail. It is a must-have for Ninjago completionists and a great example of the high printing standards of the late 2010s.
