Star Wars Episode 4/5/6 · 2004 - First appearing in the X-Wing Fighter set 4502 (Dagobah version) and later the 6212 X-Wing Fighter (2006).

Figure ID
sw0090
Theme
Star Wars
Year Released
2004 - First appearing in the X-Wing Fighter set 4502 (Dagobah version) and later the 6212 X-Wing Fighter (2006).
Rarity
Uncommon. While the character is iconic, this specific variant with the black printed patterns on the torso was produced during the transition from the earliest 'Classic' Star Wars figures to the more detailed modern era.
Head
Missing from image. The original would be 'Head Yellow Star Wars Pilot Luke Skywalker Pattern' (3626bp8g), featuring a simple black smile and orange visor printing.
Torso
Orange Torso Star Wars X-Wing Suit with Black/White/Blue Pattern. Note the white life support box and silver/black buckle detail. Includes grey arms with orange hands.
Legs
Plain Orange Legs. Standard unprinted 3x2x1 leg assembly with orange hips. Minimalist design consistent with early 2000s LEGO aesthetic.
Accessories
Missing from image. This figure originally came with a White X-Wing Helmet with Rebel Insignia and a Trans-Neon Green Lightsaber (representing his Jedi training during the flight to Dagobah).
Color Scheme
Primary Orange with white and metallic silver accents for the flight suit, and blue for the undershirt detail at the neck.
Printing Details
Simple pad printing on the front of the torso only. No back printing, no arm printing, and no leg printing. This is characteristic of the 'Classic' Star Wars line before 360-degree printing became standard.
Variants
This is the 'Light Flesh' or 'Plain' variant precursor. Others include sw0011 (original 1999 version with lighter grey details), sw0295 (updated with light-flesh skin tones), and sw1237 (modern high-detail version).
Condition Notes
The torso shown in the photo appears to have significant wear on the silver Printing and light scratching on the orange plastic. Common stress points include hair-line cracks on the sides of the torso under the armpits.
Estimated Value
Used Complete: $8-$12 USD. Incomplete (as shown in image): $3-$5 USD. The missing head, helmet, and arms significantly reduce the value to a 'parts-only' price.
Price (New)
N/A (Individual figure). The parent set 6212 originally retailed for $49.99 in 2006, which included six minifigures.
Compatible Sets
4502 X-Wing Fighter (Dagobah), 6212 X-Wing Fighter.
Character Background
Luke Skywalker in his Rebel Alliance pilot gear. This specific design represents him during the Battle of Yavin and his subsequent trip to the Dagobah system to find Master Yoda.
Design Notes
This torso was one of the first to introduce 'Metallic Silver' ink into the Rebel flight suit design, replacing the more matte 'Light Grey' prints of the 1999 inaugural Star Wars line.
Similar Minifigures
sw0011 (1999 Luke), sw0018 (Biggs Darklighter), sw0021 (Dak Ralter), sw0093 (Dutch Vander).
Collectibility
Moderate. Collectors of 'Classic' Star Wars (Yellow-skin era) seek this out to complete early dioramas, but newer more accurate versions have lowered general investment demand.
History
Following the 1999 launch, LEGO refined the X-wing suit print in 2004 to create the sw0090. This version lasted until 2010 when LEGO transitioned almost entirely to 'flesh-toned' licensed characters.
Interesting Facts
The blue triangle visible at the top of the zipper is actually the top of Luke's flight undershirt. In the original movie costume, this was a vest flap, but LEGO historically interprets it as a blue garment.
Display Suggestions
Best displayed inside a 2004-2006 era X-Wing cockpit or on a Rebel briefing room baseplate alongside Han Solo and Chewbacca.
Modification Potential
Excellent for 'purist' customs. The orange jumpsuit is the base for several Rebel pilots (Red Leader, Wedge Antilles) by simply swapping the head and helmet.
Overall Assessment
A nostalgic piece of LEGO Star Wars history. While the current sample is incomplete and heavily played-with, it remains a recognizable symbol of the theme's first 'Golden Age'. Rating: 5/10 (in current condition).
