Year Released

2015. This minifigure debuted in September 2015 as part of the first-ever themed Halloween CMF series, where LEGO experimented with a non-randomized box-color specific to a holiday theme.

Rarity

Uncommon. While part of a mass-produced series, Series 14 was highly popular and retired quickly. Figures with narrow cloth/film accessories like her cape are harder to find in pristine condition.

Head

Light aqua skin tone, unique to this series. Printing includes purple eyeshadow, long eyelashes, a slight smirk showing off vampire fangs, and beauty marks. Hair is a black beehive style with a printed silver spider on the right side.

Torso

Black with red and silver printing. Features a low-cut dress design with red web patterns and a white spider brooch. Arms are black with light aqua hands to match the head piece.

Legs

Black 2x2x2 sloped 'dress' brick. Printing continues the red spiderweb motif from the torso and features multiple printed white spiders of various sizes.

Accessories

Trans-clear plastic film cape with black spiderweb patterns (unique to this figure) and a large red spider (part 30238).

Color Scheme

A gothic palette of black, red, and silver, contrasted against 'Light Aqua' skin. This was a departure from standard white or flesh tones to give a ghoulish atmosphere.

Printing Details

High quality pad printing on the head (front only), torso (front and back), and the front of the sloped dress piece. The silver printing on the hair is a particularly nice high-end detail for a CMF.

Variants

There are no official variants of this specific iteration (col212), but she is part of a larger 'Monster' lineage that includes the Vampire Queen (Series 2) and Vampire Bat (Series 8).

Condition Notes

The plastic film cape is extremely prone to creasing, fraying at the collar, or tearing near the neck holes. The printing on the black slope piece can also show scratches easily since it is a large flat surface.

Estimated Value

$6.00 - $9.00 USD (Used), $12.00 - $15.00 USD (New/Sealed in bag). The cape condition heavily dictates value; a figure with a creased cape loses roughly 40% of its market price.

Price (New)

Original retail price was $3.99 USD in 2015. The figure has roughly tripled in value over the last decade.

Character Background

Part of a fictional monster world created for Series 14. She is a gothic vampire-like character who controls spiders. Unlike typical vampires, she has a symbiotic relationship with arachnids, often appearing as a host for the Monsters theme.

Design Notes

Uses the sloped dress piece rather than standard legs, which was the standard 'gown' solution in 2015. The use of a plastic film cape instead of fabric allowed for the intricate 'transparent web' effect.

Similar Minifigures

Vampire Queen (col020), Lord Vampyre's Bride (mo002), and the Series 12 Spooky Girl (col187).

Collectibility

High. Series 14 is widely considered one of the best CMF series ever produced due to its cohesive theme. She is a staple for Halloween-themed 'MOC' displays.

History

Following the success of 'Monster Fighters' (2012), LEGO used Series 14 to see if a dedicated horror-themed blind-bag line would sell. The success of this figure led to more specialized gothic characters in the Hidden Side and various Halloween polybags.

Interesting Facts

Despite her name, she uses a classic Vampire head mold (fangs). The red spider included is a color variation of the spider mold that was much more common in black, glow-in-the-dark, or trans-neon green.

Display Suggestions

Best displayed with the Series 14 'Spider Boy' (col216) as a pair. Use a back-lit display to make her transparent spiderweb cape 'pop' against dark backgrounds.

Modification Potential

The sloped dress piece is highly sought after for gothic 'MOCs'. The Light Aqua head is also popular for custom zombie or ghostly female characters.

Overall Assessment

9/10 for design. She is a beautiful example of mid-2010s LEGO design, utilizing a mix of unique colors and specialized materials (the film cape) to achieve a look that standard parts couldn't provide.
