Figure ID
njo095
Theme
Ninjago
Year Released
2014; debuted in the 70724 NinjaCopter set
Rarity
Uncommon. While not as rare as some limited exclusives, this specific armored version was only released in two Ninjago sets in 2014, making it harder to find in mint condition compared to basic Nindroids.
Head
Black head with red robot eye printing on the left and a silver/gray mechanical sensor eye on the right. It features a unique silver Nindroid visor/mask piece that covers the upper portion of the face.
Torso
Black torso with detailed Nindroid mechanical printing including a red 'power core' symbol, purple sash, and silver ammunition/utility belt detail. Back shows mechanical plating. Black arms and hands.
Legs
Black legs with printing that continues the purple sash and silver mechanical plating/utility belt from the torso.
Accessories
Includes a custom black neck-bracket armor piece with silver studs on the back to hold two flat silver katanas. The figure in the image is shown with two silver katanas and two small silver daggers/blades attached to the hands.
Color Scheme
Primarily black with flat silver highlights, dark purple accents (sash), and bright red highlights (eyes and power core).
Printing Details
High-quality pad printing on the head, torso front/back, and legs. The printing features sharp contrast between the silver mechanical details and the black plastic.
Variants
There is a 'Legacy' version (njo498) released in 2019 which has slightly different torso printing and no armor piece, and a version without the shoulder armor (njo084). The version in the image is the original 2014 armored version.
Condition Notes
The silver printing on the torso and the 'eye' of the head are prone to scratching. The shoulder armor piece can sometimes cause stress marks on the neck peg if removed frequently.

Used: $12 - $18 USD; New: $25 - $35 USD (Value varies based on completeness of accessories, especially the armor and katanas).

Contained in sets ranging from $30 (70721) to $60 (70724) during its 2014 release window.
Compatible Sets
70721 Kai Fighter (2014), 70724 NinjaCopter (2014).
Character Background
General Cryptor is the leader of the Nindroid Army, created by the Overlord to defeat the Ninja. He is known for his cynical personality and mechanical superiority over previous droid versions.
Design Notes
The use of the wrap-around silver visor was a significant departure from standard Ninjago masks at the time, emphasizing the 'cybernetic' reboot theme of the 2014 season.
Similar Minifigures
Mindroid (njo092), Nindroid Warrior (njo083), and Ninjago Legacy General Cryptor (njo498).
Collectibility
High for Ninjago fans. The 'Rebooted' era is nostalgic for many collectors, and Cryptor is the primary antagonist general for that wave.
History
First introduced during the third season of Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu. He represented a shift toward sci-fi elements in what was previously a strictly fantasy-based theme.
Interesting Facts
Despite being a robot, General Cryptor was programmed with a sense of humor and frequently insulted his subordinates, particularly Mindroid.
Display Suggestions
Best displayed with other Nindroids and the Overlord to form a 'Rebooted' army scene. Using a transparent clear bar to simulate a jumping pose highlights the leg detail.
Modification Potential
The shoulder armor is highly sought after for MOCs (My Own Creations) involving sci-fi soldiers or space assassins.
Overall Assessment
This is a must-have for Ninjago collectors. It is an excellent example of LEGO's 2014-era printing technology and remains one of the more intimidating-looking villain figures in the theme's history.
