Figure ID

Theme
Star Wars
Year Released
2012 (First debuted in Set 9488 Elite Clone Trooper & Commando Droid Battle Pack)
Rarity
Uncommon. While not massively rare, it was only available in four sets between 2012 and 2014, making it harder to find than standard B1 Battle Droids.
Head
Unique Commando Droid head mold in dark brown. Features silver/white eye printing and tan/sand yellow mechanical line printing on the crown/top of the head.
Torso
Dark brown droid torso with mechanical ribbing. Notable for a small red dot print on the left side of the chest (signifying a sensor or status light). Arms are standard droids arms with vertical clips.
Legs
Standard Battle Droid legs in dark brown. These are a single-piece mold that clips into the torso piece.
Accessories
Usually paired with a standard black blaster (blaster pistol) or a thermal detonator, though none are shown in the image provided.
Color Scheme
Monochromatic Dark Brown with minor accents of silver, tan, and a single red dot. This distinguishes it from the tan B1 and the grey B2 Super Battle Droids.
Printing Details
High precision for its era. Printing is restricted to the head (eyes and decorative lines) and the single red dot on the torso. No back or leg printing exists.
Variants
Captain variant (sw0458) features white/grey markings on the head and torso. This version (sw0359) is the standard grunt.
Condition Notes
Prone to loose arm joints due to the friction-based clips. The 'neck' bar on the torso can suffer from stress marks or snapping if head removal is frequent. Check the red dot for paint wear.
Estimated Value
Used: $5 - $8. New/Mint: $10 - $15. Prices fluctuate based on the quantity available in the secondary market.
Price (New)
Originally available in the 9488 Battle Pack for $12.99 USD, which included four minifigures, making the cost-per-figure roughly $3.25.
Compatible Sets
9488 Elite Clone Trooper & Commando Droid Battle Pack (2012), 75002 AT-RT (2013), 75012 BARC Speeder with Sidecar (2013), and 75035 Kashyyyk Troopers (contextual appearances).
Character Background
BX-series droid commandos used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Known for agility, stealth, and superior combat programming compared to standard B1 units in 'The Clone Wars' animated series.
Design Notes
LEGO utilized the existing Battle Droid torso and leg molds but created a specific elongated head mold to capture the more predatory look of the Commando Droid.
Similar Minifigures
sw0458 Commando Droid Captain, sw0001c Battle Droid, sw0230 Rocket Droid Commander.
Collectibility
High for army builders. Collectors often seek these in squads of 3-5 to mirror their appearance in Star Wars media.
History
Followed the 2008-2011 'Clone Wars' wave. It represented an upgrade in droid design accuracy from the standard Battle Droid mold used since 1999.
Interesting Facts
The red dot on the torso is one of the smallest specific detail prints LEGO has applied to a droid torso of this shape. In the show, these droids can speak with a much deeper voice than B1s.
Display Suggestions
Best displayed in a crouched or 'prowling' pose on a grey/metallic baseplate. Pairs excellently with Phase II Clone Troopers or Captain Rex.
Modification Potential
Arms can be swapped for horizontal-clip arms if using different weaponry, or swapped with sand-green parts for a 'jungle' camo variant MOC.
Overall Assessment
A solid, era-accurate representation of a fan-favorite droid. Standout features are the unique head mold and the dark brown color palette. Highly recommended for Clone Wars era collectors.
