Theme
Legends of Chima
Year Released
Released in 2013 as part of the initial Legends of Chima wave. The theme was LEGO's big 'in-house' internal successor to themes like Ninjago at the time.
Rarity
Uncommon. While not a limited edition, he only appeared in one specific set, making him harder to find than the primary protagonists like Laval or Cragger.
Head
The head features a unique Crocodile-specific mold in reddish brown. It includes two white tooth/horn elements inserted into the front. The printing highlights orange reptilian eyes and yellow studded ridges along the brow.
Torso
Dark brown torso featuring a muscular alligator/crocodile chest pattern. It is draped in a white 'webbing' or net design and includes a small trans-light blue 'Chi' orb crystal on the left chest. Hands are lime green.
Legs
Reddish brown legs with detailed lime green printing representing a grass-like loincloth. The lower legs feature white skull-like kneepad designs and black claw/toe printing.
Accessories
Commonly equipped with various 'Chi' weapons or bone-themed spears in sets, though the figure pictured is missing its handheld accessories.
Color Scheme
Dominant reddish brown and dark brown supported by lime green accents to represent a swamp-dwelling creature. Hits of white and trans-light blue provide high-contrast detail.
Printing Details
High-quality pad printing on the torso (front and back) and the front of the legs. The 'Chi' orb and the webbing are particularly sharp, characteristic of the 2013-2015 Chima era.
Variants
This is the only version of Raw-Zul, though several other members of the Crocodile tribe (like Crawley or Cragger) share similar base colors and torso patterns with slight modifications.
Condition Notes
The white teeth inserted in the head are prone to falling out and being lost. Lime green hands can show stress marks if weapons are inserted/removed frequently. Reddish brown parts are generally sturdy in this era.
Estimated Value
Used complete: $3.00 - $5.00 USD. New/Mint: $7.00 - $10.00 USD. Value is relatively low due to the large production volume of Chima figures.
Price (New)
Included in set 70006 'Cragger's Command Ship' ($79.99) and the 70112 'Croc Chomp' Speedorz set ($14.99).
Compatible Sets
70006 Cragger's Command Ship (2013), 70112 Croc Chomp (2013), and 850779 Chima Accessory Set (2013).
Character Background
A loyal soldier of the Crocodile Tribe and a minor antagonist in the Chima TV series. He serves under King Crominus and Prince Cragger in their attempts to control the Chi balance of the land.
Design Notes
Chima figures are famous for their dual-piece head designs, combining a standard minifigure head with a unique rubber or plastic head-wrap/mask mold to give characters an animalistic look.
Similar Minifigures
Crawley (loc012), Cragger (loc008), and Crooler (loc011). It also shares a base aesthetic with some Lizard Men from the Series 5 CMF.
Collectibility
Moderate. While Chima has a dedicated cult following, it does not currently command the high 'nostalgia tax' of themes like Star Wars or Classic Castle.
History
Released during the peak of LEGO's TV-integrated marketing strategy. Chima was intended to be a multi-year epic with a rich lore, replacing Ninjago before Ninjago was revived by popular demand.
Interesting Facts
The character's name is a play on reptilian attributes, typical of the Chima naming convention where characters have double-vowel names based on their tribe.
Display Suggestions
Ideal for swamp-themed dioramas or placed inside the Cragger's Command Ship. Displays well with other 'swamp' tribes like the Frogs or Mud-Vipers.
Modification Potential
Great for 'Lizardfolk' or 'Orc' custom minifigures for D&D themes due to the primitive clothing and textured head mold.
Overall Assessment
A well-detailed, mid-tier figure that showcases the peak of LEGO's creative mold design during the mid-2010s. A solid addition for any Chima completionist.
