Year Released
2014. First appeared in set 70724 (NinjaCopter) and 70726 (Destructoid). This release marked the shift to the 'Rebooted' era where characters faced a digital/cybernetic threat.
Rarity
Uncommon. While not a limited convention exclusive, this specific 'Battle Scarred' variant was only included in two specific sets within the Rebooted wave, making him harder to find than the standard non-damaged Rebooted Zane.
Head
Dual-sided yellow head with high-tech printing. One side shows Zane's human expression with a robotic eye piece (blue sensor), while the other reveals more of his internal titanium endoskeleton circuitry. This figure features 'Flat Top' hair in Tan.
Torso
White ninja robes with heavy 'battle damage' printing. The chest area is torn open to reveal blue and gold circuitry and mechanical components. It features white and flat silver arms with black hands.
Legs
Standard white legs with a white hip piece. Unlike later 'Legacy' versions, these original legs lack printing, which was common for basic figures in 2014.
Accessories
Includes a white wrap-around face mask (scarf style). Depending on the set, he was originally packaged with Technoblades or silver katanas, though they are missing from the provided image.
Color Scheme
Primary white and silver (Titanium) base, accented with yellow (skin tone), tan (hair), and intricate blue/gold/black circuitry highlights.
Printing Details
High-quality pad printing on the torso and head. The torso print is particularly complex for 2014, showing depth within the 'damaged' chest cavity. Note the asymmetry of the silver and white arms.
Variants
Known variants include the standard Rebooted Zane (njo083 - no damage), Titanium Zane (njo133), and the Legacy remake (njo498) which has updated leg printing and different hair.
Condition Notes
Common wear points include 'silvering' or fading of the flat silver arm and scratches on the exposed chest print. The white plastic is prone to yellowing if exposed to sunlight.
Estimated Value
Used: $12.00 - $18.00 USD. New/Mint: $25.00+ USD. The value is driven by Ninjago completionists looking for specific wave variants.
Price (New)
Originally available in sets retailing for $29.99 (Destructoid) and $59.99 (NinjaCopter). He was not sold as an individual polybag or CMF.
Compatible Sets
70724 NinjaCopter (2014), 70726 Destructoid (2014).
Character Background
Zane is the Elemental Master of Ice and a Nindroid (ninja droid). In the Rebooted season, his robotic nature is fully revealed to the team, and this figure represents his appearance after taking significant damage in battles against the Overlord's Nindroid army.
Design Notes
This was one of the first figures to lean heavily into the 'damaged' aesthetic in Ninjago. The tan flat-top hair mold was the standard for Zane for many years before being updated to a more textured mold in later series.
Similar Minifigures
P.I.X.A.L. (njo100), Rebooted Zane (njo083), General Cryptor (njo084), and Titanium Zane (njo146).
Collectibility
High for long-term Ninjago fans. The 'Rebooted' sets are considered a classic era of the theme, and damaged variants of main characters are always popular for dioramas.
History
Launched at the start of Ninjago's 'second life' in 2014 after the theme was nearly cancelled. This figure's reveal of Zane's internal components was a major plot point in the animated series.
Interesting Facts
Despite being a robot, Zane still uses the traditional yellow 'skin' color for his face in this version, reflecting his initial 'human' disguise before he fully embraced his Titanium form later in the season.
Display Suggestions
Best displayed in a 1x2x2 acrylic case or within a 'Digiverse' terminal MOC. Pair with a blue LED light to make the transparent-blue-looking circuitry on the torso 'pop'.
Modification Potential
Excellent for MOCs involving damaged robots or cyborgs. The torso is frequently used by customizers to create 'Terminator' style figures.
Overall Assessment
A standout figure from the 2014 wave. Its detailed mechanical printing makes it visually distinct from almost any other Zane variant. It is a 'must-have' for fans of the Rebooted storyline. Quality Rating: 8/10.
