Figure ID
sw1286
Theme
Star Wars
Year Released
2023
Rarity
Uncommon. While part of a widely available retail set, they are specifically tied to a mid-range vehicle set rather than a cheap battle pack, making army building more expensive.
Head
Light Nougat head with a scowling expression, featuring white pupils and feathered eyebrows. This is the 'standard' modern clone face used since 2020.
Torso
White Torso Clone Trooper Phase 2 armor with red (Dark Red) markings. Features a high level of detail including the utility belt and specialized Coruscant Guard patterns. Back printing continues the armor plating.
Legs
White legs with red armor printing on the hips and shins. Includes printed toe details and knee pads. The hips are white, which is a detail specific to this version's accuracy.
Accessories
Typically equipped with a standard black DC-15S blaster carbine or a DC-15A blaster rifle. In the image, several are shown with long rifles and one has a specialized scope attachment.
Color Scheme
Primary color is White with Dark Red (Maroon) secondary markings and Black details for the body glove and visor. This scheme is iconic to the Coruscant Guard.
Printing Details
High-quality pad printing. Notable for the red color consistency on the helmet and torso. Printing covers the front of the legs/shins but does not extend to the sides or back of the legs.
Variants
This is the 2023 version with the 'helmet holes' for accessories. It differs from the earlier 2014 version (sw0531) which had different torso printing and no attachment holes on the helmet.
Condition Notes
Prone to 'torso cracks' under the arms if played with heavily. The white plastic can yellow if exposed to UV light. Check for 'helmet hole' alignment as some production batches have slightly crooked printing.
Estimated Value
Used: $8 - $12 USD. New: $13 - $16 USD. Prices remain stable due to high demand for army building.
Price (New)
Available in set 75354 (Coruscant Guard Gunship) which retailed for $139.99 USD, containing two of these figures.
Compatible Sets
75354 Coruscant Guard Gunship (2023).
Character Background
The Coruscant Guard served as peacekeepers and elite security on the Republic capital. They were led by Commander Fox and frequently appeared in 'The Clone Wars' TV series guarding senators and hunting fugitives.
Design Notes
Includes the controversial 'helmet holes' which allow for the attachment of rangefinders or visors, reflecting LEGO's move toward a universal clone helmet mold regardless of character rank.
Similar Minifigures
sw0531 (2014 Shock Trooper), sw1191 (187th Legion Clone), sw1235 (501st Specialist).
Collectibility
High. Shock Troopers are a fan-favorite legion. Because they only appear in one expensive set currently, they are a high-priority 'army builder' figure for Star Wars collectors.
History
Shock Troopers first appeared in LEGO form in 2007 (sw0188). This 2023 version represents the most detailed and screen-accurate iteration to date, following the '2020 style' clone template.
Interesting Facts
The red markings on this figure are intended to match 'Dark Red' exactly, but because they are printed on white plastic, they can sometimes appear slightly brighter than the molded dark red bricks in the gunship set.
Display Suggestions
Display in ranks of four or more to simulate a security detail. They look best alongside Chancellor Palpatine or Commander Fox minifigures.
Modification Potential
Excellent for 'purist' customs; the helmet holes allow for the addition of grey or black visors and rangefinders to create officers.
Overall Assessment
9/10. An excellent update to a classic trooper. The only drawback is the lack of waist capes (kamas) or shoulder pauldrons for a 'Captain' variant, which LEGO opted to exclude for the standard grunt.
