Rarity
Uncommon. While not exclusive to a high-priced set, it was only included in a Command Station accessory pack which had limited retail availability and was frequently out of stock during its short production run.
Head
Standard 'Nougat' skin tone head with the updated 'Jucha' face print (angry clone expression). It is covered by a Phase 2 Clone Trooper helmet with black T-visor and grey/silver breathing vents.
Torso
White torso with Phase 2 armor printing. Design includes black straps, a holstered pistol on the left chest, and a utility belt. Includes back printing of the armor plating and thermal detonator.
Legs
White legs with black hip piece. Printing includes knee plates and foot details. There is no side leg printing on this specific variant.
Accessories
Standard black short blaster (DC-17 blasters or short blaster pistol). Some sets included a blaster rifle (DC-15S).
Color Scheme
Primary white with black and light bluish grey accents. Flesh-toned (Nougat) head underneath.
Printing Details
High-quality pad printing. The torso features fine detailing of the armor gaps and chest straps. The helmet print is notably crisp, following the 2020-style 'unified' clone design language. Dual-sided printing on the torso.
Variants
Variants include sw0541 (2014 version with different torso/legs), and the various legion-specific clones (501st, 212th, etc.). This 2022 version is the 'plain' army builder variant.
Condition Notes
Prone to hairline cracks on the sides of the torso (arm sockets) and heel cracks on the legs. White plastic can yellow over time if exposed to direct UV light.
Estimated Value
Current market value is approximately $10-$15 USD for used condition and $15-$20 USD for new/mint condition. Prices fluctuate based on 'army building' bulk demand.
Price (New)
The 40558 Clone Trooper Command Station retail price was $14.99 USD, which included three minifigures, making the initial value roughly $5 per figure.
Compatible Sets
75337 AT-TE Walker (similar figures), 40558 Clone Trooper Command Station (direct source).
Character Background
Based on the Phase 2 armor introduced in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. These clones represent the standard infantry without specific legion markings or colors.
Design Notes
Uses the newer '2020' helmet mold which features the controversial printed holes on the side for attachments, intended to unify the look with the 501st and 332nd troopers.
Similar Minifigures
sw0541 (Phase 2 Clone), sw1094 (501st Legion Clone), sw1100 (332nd Company Clone), sw1235 (212th Clone).
Collectibility
High demand for 'army building'. Plain white Phase 2 clones are historically rare in LEGO's history, making this a staple for prequel-era collectors.
History
For years, LEGO focused on Phase 1 clones or specific legions. The 'Plain Phase 2' was a highly requested figure by the AFOL community before its 2022 release.
Interesting Facts
This specific version (sw1189) is often sought after as a blank slate for customizers to apply decals for legions not yet made by LEGO.
Display Suggestions
Best displayed in 'marching formation' or alongside a Phase 2 Captain Rex or Commander Cody. Looks excellent inside a 75337 AT-TE.
Modification Potential
Extremely high. Can be easily modified with custom cloth Pauldrons/Kammas or painted/decals to represent specific battalions.
Overall Assessment
A top-tier army builder. Excellent printing quality and iconic design. A must-have for fans of the Grand Army of the Republic.
