Year Released

2015 - Released following the debut of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens film sets. This era marked a transition into more complex torso and leg printing to match high-definition movie appearances.

Rarity

Uncommon. This figure was exclusive to a single, mid-priced set. While not inherently rare in terms of production numbers, its exclusivity to a retired set makes it a target for troop builders.

Head

Olive Green head with light flesh accents, featuring a scowling, weathered expression with detailed facial lines and missing teeth. The head is topped with a red bandana/beanie headgear piece (Part 11303).

Torso

Tan torso with highly detailed printing of a brown leather bandolier pouches, straps, and an ivory-colored undershirt. The back features continued strap printing. Arms are tan with reddish brown hands.

Legs

Plain Red legs. They lack printing, which is common for background character minifigures of this production wave.

Accessories

Equipped with a black short blaster (blaster pistol). In the original set, others came with a flintlock-style rifle or club.

Color Scheme

A striking mix of Olive Green skin, Red legs and headgear, and Tan/Brown torso. This palette successfully mirrors the gritty look of the Kanjiklub gang from the film.

Printing Details

High-quality pad printing on the head and torso front/back. The bandolier design is crisp with various shades of brown to show depth. No printing on the arms or legs.

Variants

None officially. However, two different head prints were released for Kanjiklub members in the same set to allow for variety in gang recruitment. This is the 'grimacing' variant sw0672.

Condition Notes

Inspect for 'neck cracks' on the torso and hair-line fractures on the heels. The reddish brown hands are made of a plastic formula known for being slightly more brittle than other colors; check for splits in the wrist.

Estimated Value

Used: $4.00 - $6.00 USD | New: $8.00 - $10.00 USD. Prices are stable but can increase if purchased as part of a lot containing the full gang.

Price (New)

Included in set 75180 'Rathtar Escape' which retailed for $79.99 USD in 2017. As an individual figure in 2015/2016, it was relatively affordable.

Compatible Sets

75180 Rathtar Escape (2017). Note: While the set was 2017, the figure first appeared in early catalogs under the Episode VII range.

Character Background

Kanjiklub is an intergalactic criminal organization consisting of several mercenaries, primarily of South Asian descent, who cornered Han Solo on the Eravana regarding a failed debt involving Rathtars.

Design Notes

The use of Olive Green for the skin tone was a specific design choice to represent the weathered, rough aesthetic of the gang members without using standard flesh tones that might look too clean.

Similar Minifigures

The other Kanjiklub Gang Member (sw0842), Guavian Security Soldier (sw0675), and Bala-Tik (sw0841).

Collectibility

Moderate. Primarily collected by Star Wars 'completionists' and those building dioramas of the Eravana freighter scene. Low individual investment potential but high display value in groups.

History

First introduced during the 'Force Friday' waves for The Force Awakens. It remains the only time LEGO has produced Kanjiklub members, as the characters had very limited screen time.

Interesting Facts

The character this minifigure is based on was played by a member of 'The Raid' stunt team, known for their incredible martial arts choreography.

Display Suggestions

Display on a grey or metallic baseplate alongside Han Solo, Chewbacca, and at least two Guavian Death Gang members to recreate the standoff scene.

Modification Potential

The torso is excellent for custom post-apocalyptic or desert-themed MOCs due to the universal look of the ammo pouches. The red legs can be easily swapped for printed ones to upgrade the figure.

Overall Assessment

A well-executed background character that captures the essence of the film's costumes. While the lack of leg printing is a minor drawback, the unique head print and detailed torso make it a solid addition to any sequel trilogy collection.
