Character Background
King Theoden of Rohan is a central character in J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. Initially manipulated and weakened by Saruman through Grima Wormtongue, he is freed by Gandalf, leads the Rohirrim to victory at the Battle of the Hornburg, and heroically dies at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields.
Design Notes
Features a specialized medium stone gray hair piece with molded side burns and crown-like texturing that accurately represents the character's appearance in Peter Jackson's film adaptation.

Collectibility
High demand among Middle-earth collectors due to the limited number of sets produced during the original 2012-2013 LEGO Lord of the Rings run, making secondary market figures steadily appreciate.
History
Released during the peak of the initial LEGO Lord of the Rings wave in 2013 exclusively in the massive Tower of Orthanc set, making him much harder to acquire than figures found in cheaper sets.
Interesting Facts
Because King Theoden was exclusive to the $200 Tower of Orthanc flagship set, he is significantly rarer and more sought after by completionists than other standard fellowship heroes.
Display Suggestions
Best displayed on a dark gray or earthy brown brick-built baseplate alongside other Rohirrim warriors and Gandalf the White, ideally protected from direct sunlight to prevent cape fading.
Modification Potential
Excellent for purist custom figures, MOCs of Rohan scenes, or medieval castle displays utilizing the dark red regal torso and armor prints.
Overall Assessment
An essential, highly detailed figure for any Tolkien fan or LEGO Castle collector, combining excellent print quality, exclusivity to a major set, and strong long-term value.
