Figure ID

Theme
Star Wars
Year Released
2017 (First Order Star Destroyer release context)
Rarity
Uncommon; it was included in two primary sets but one was a high-priced flagship set, keeping the individual figure supply moderate compared to mass-market droids like BB-8.
Head
Unique black droid head with a flat top, featuring silver and dark grey mechanical printing, a small red sensor eye, and a recessed top stud.
Torso
Spherical black body piece (droid body) with intricate silver and dark grey panel lines and circular 'eye' patterns on multiple sides; utilizes a specialized BB-series droid mold.
Legs
None (BB-series droids use a weighted or rounded bottom mold integrated into the body piece for balance).
Accessories
Typically none included for the droid itself; sometimes displayed with First Order related accessories in MOCs, but none are official for this ID.
Color Scheme
Dominant Black with Silver, Dark Grey, and a single Red dot (eye).
Printing Details
High-quality pad printing across the spherical body and the beveled head; wrap-around printing allows for detail from all angles, matching the 'evil' BB-8 aesthetic.
Variants
Standard version (sw0855) and a variant within the 2017 Advent Calendar. A larger scale version exists in the Build-to-Order scale set 75187, but this is the standard minifigure scale.
Condition Notes
Prone to light scratches on the top of the head stud and the bottom of the body from being moved across surfaces. Print on the rounded surfaces can occasionally show minor slippage if quality control was off, though rare.
Estimated Value
Used: $4.00 - $6.00; New: $7.00 - $10.00 USD depending on the platform (BrickLink/eBay).
Price (New)
Originally released in set 75190 First Order Star Destroyer ($159.99) and set 75179 Kylo Ren's TIE Fighter ($79.99).
Compatible Sets
75190 First Order Star Destroyer, 75179 Kylo Ren's TIE Fighter, 75184 Star Wars Advent Calendar 2017.
Character Background
A First Order BB-series astromech droid stationed aboard the Supremacy. It was the 'evil' counterpart to the Resistance's BB-8, tasked with monitoring ship systems and detecting intruders.
Design Notes
Utilizes the same innovative spherical mold as BB-8 but with a distinct flat-topped head mold to differentiate the First Order model from the Resistance model.
Similar Minifigures
BB-8 (sw0661), BB-9E (Small/Polybag versions), First Order Astromech Droid (sw0665).
Collectibility
Moderate; essential for 'The Last Jedi' completionists and those building First Order dioramas or Star Destroyer interiors.
History
Introduced in the 2017 wave for Episode VIII. It marked LEGO's first variation of the BB-series droid mold introduced in 2015.
Interesting Facts
Despite having a significant presence in the toy marketing for The Last Jedi, the character had very limited screen time in the actual film.
Display Suggestions
Place alongside Kylo Ren or Captain Phasma on a black or dark grey plate. Looks best in a First Order hangar bay setting.
Modification Potential
The head can be placed on other droid bodies for 'ugly' droids or MOC astromechs; otherwise, it is a very specialized piece.
Overall Assessment
A sharp, modern-looking droid with excellent printing quality. A 'hold' for collectors as its value remains stable due to the limited sets it appeared in compared to BB-8.
