Theme
DC Super Heroes
Year Released
2015. It debuted in set 76040 Brainiac Attack, released during a peak era for the LEGO DC line alongside New 52-inspired character designs.
Rarity
Uncommon to Rare. While mass-produced in a retail set, set 76040 was the only way to obtain this specific retail version of Supergirl, making it highly sought after by DC completionists.
Head
Light Flesh dual-sided head with high cheekbones and black eyelashes. One side shows a neutral smile, the reverse features an angry 'heat vision' expression with red glowing eyes and a scowl. Includes a Bright Light Yellow swept-back hairpiece (92257).
Torso
Blue superhero suit with the iconic House of El 'S' crest on the chest. Features muscle definition printing and a yellow belt. Red arm segments are not printed, hands are Light Flesh.
Legs
Red legs with red hips. Printing includes a red pleated skirt design and Light Flesh skin tones on the upper thighs to represent the character's traditional costume transition into boots.
Accessories
Includes a soft fabric red cape (one-hole style). In its original set, it also came with 'Super Jumper' elements, though these are often discarded by collectors due to damage they cause to minifigure legs.
Color Scheme
Classic primary colors: Blue torso, Red cape and legs, Yellow belt and hair, with Light Flesh skin tones.
Printing Details
High-quality pad printing on the torso front and back, head, and front of the legs. The leg printing is particularly notable for handling the skin-tone-to-skirt transition effectively without side printing.
Variants
There are three main variants: This retail version (sh164), an extremely rare 2016 SDCC exclusive (sh311) with shorter hair, and a LEGO Dimensions pack version (dim038) which is nearly identical to sh164 but features a different cape material.
Condition Notes
The red fabric cape is prone to fraying and creasing. Check the 'skirt' printing on the legs for chips. The neck area where the cape sits can often see slight stress marks or 'white' plastic stretching if the cape was pulled.
Estimated Value
Current market value is approximately $50 - $65 USD for a used version in excellent condition. A new, never-assembled figure can fetch $75 - $90 USD.
Price (New)
The original set 76040 Brainiac Attack retailed for $24.99 USD in 2015, which included four minifigures, making the initial value-per-figure roughly $6.25.

Character Background
Kara Zor-El, the cousin of Superman. This version represents her classic comic/animation appearance rather than specific modern TV or movie counterparts.
Design Notes
Uses a standard female face mold of the era. The 'skirt' printing on the legs is a clever way to simulate a multi-layered outfit without a specialized plastic skirt piece, which would have restricted leg movement.
Similar Minifigures
Superman (sh003), Power Girl (custom or similar Justice League members), and Wonder Woman (sh004). Also comparable to the Series CMF version of Wonder Woman.
Collectibility
High demand. Supergirl is a core Justice League member, and with limited retail appearances, she remains an essential 'A-list' character for DC collectors.
History
Supergirl was first released in LEGO form in 2015. Before this, fans had to rely on custom prints. Her design has remained relatively consistent in the few variations LEGO has produced.
Interesting Facts
For several years, this was the only 'affordable' Supergirl, as the only other version was an exclusive San Diego Comic-Con giveaway that sells for thousands of dollars.
Display Suggestions
Display alongside other Justice League members like Superman and Martian Manhunter. Use a transparent 'action bar' (poseable stand) to simulate her flying through the air.
Modification Potential
Excellent for purist MOCs. The hair and head are frequently used by fans to create custom versions of other blonde female characters like Carol Danvers or Gwen Stacy.
Overall Assessment
A standout minifigure from the 2015 DC line. It is a faithful, vibrant rendition of the character. Its value has appreciated significantly, making it a solid hold for collectors.
