Rarity
Common to Uncommon - Mass produced during 2004-2006, but certain specific set-exclusive versions are harder to find.
Head
Yellow flesh tone (Classic Yellow in 2004) with orange/brown beard, aggressive eyebrows, and serious expression. Headgear is a Flat Silver pointed helmet with a pearl gold trim/fringe and red spade-like printing.
Torso
Dark Purple with detailed silver plate armor, gold trim, and a black belt with gold buckles. Back is printed with continuation of armor. Dark Stone Gray arms and Light Flesh hands.
Legs
Dark Red legs (sometimes Dark Purple depending on version, this image shows red) with silver chainmail and purple tunic printing, including dark brown leather details.
Accessories
Purple thin-fabric cape; typically paired with a large silver sword and a kite shield featuring a scorpion emblem (not pictured).
Color Scheme
Primary Colors: Dark Purple, Silver, and Dark Red. Accents: Gold and Black. This shadow-knight aesthetic was unique to the series' villain.
Printing Details
High-quality pad printing on torso and legs. The helmet printing is notoriously susceptible to rubbing off. Face printing is sharp with typical mid-2000s alignment.
Variants
Multiple variants exist: Chrome Silver helmet (exclusive to some sets), different leg colors (Red vs Purple), and an armored breastplate version vs printed torso.
Condition Notes
The helmet's red print often fades. The purple cape is very prone to fraying at the edges. Torsos should be checked for side-cracks which were common for this era's plastic mix.
Estimated Value
Used Complete: $8 - $15 USD. Individual parts fluctuate based on cape quality. Helmet alone can fetch $4-5 in pristine condition.
Price (New)
Came in sets ranging from $10 (7048) to $90 (8877). Original CMF-style polybags were roughly $3.00.
Compatible Sets
8877 Vladek's Dark Fortress, 8781 Castle of Morcia, 7048 Vladek Encounter, 8774 Vladek (Large Figure Set).
Character Background
Lord Vladek is the traitorous knight of Morcia who overthrew King Mathias. He leads the Shadow Knights using the Power of the Scorpion.
Design Notes
Features a unique helmet mold specifically designed for this character. It was one of the first times LEGO pushed heavy metallic printing on curved surfaces.
Similar Minifigures
Lord Garmadon (Ninjago), Basil the Bat Lord (Fright Knights), and modern Shadow Knights from Nexo Knights.
Collectibility
High nostalgia value for '2000s kids.' Stable investment potential for mint condition figures with crisp capes.
History
Vladek was the cornerstone of the Knights Kingdom II narrative, appearing in comics, a video game (GBA), and trading cards. He transitioned from a minifigure to a large buildable action figure.
Interesting Facts
Vladek's helmet is designed to resemble the head of a scorpion when viewed from certain angles. He is one of the few Castle villains with a fully developed backstory in LEGO literature.
Display Suggestions
Best displayed on a dark grey or black baseplate, surrounded by Shadow Knights, ideally in front of the 8877 Dark Fortress.
Modification Potential
The silver and purple torso is highly prized for MOC (My Own Creation) fantasy royal guards or custom dark elves.
Overall Assessment
An iconic 2000s villain. While common, the distinctive purple and silver color palette makes him a standout piece in any collection of LEGO Castle history.
