Nearly Headless Nick
hp144 · Harry Potter
Wizarding World / Hogwarts Great Hall · 2018 (Release of set 75954)

Figure ID
hp144
Theme
Harry Potter
Year Released
2018 (Release of set 75954)
Rarity
Uncommon. While part of a flagship mass-produced set, he remained exclusive to that specific set for several years before a newer variant was released.
Head
White head with unique printing: grey bushy eyebrows, a long pointed mustache and goatee, and intricate 'ghostly' facial lines and age wrinkles. One-sided printing. Currently missing its original white hair piece (Part 92081/Mid-length with layers).
Torso
Light Bluish Gray torso with intricate dark grey and silver printing of a late 16th-century doublet. Features vertical buttons and quilted fabric patterns. Light Bluish Gray arms with white hands.
Legs
Light Bluish Gray with dark grey and silver printing continuing the quilted doublet and hose pattern. Printing includes knee detailing and decorative vertical stripes.
Accessories
Missing in image. Originally includes a white mid-length hair piece. Some sets included a translucent or white buildable stand to simulate floating.
Color Scheme
Monochromatic white and Light Bluish Gray. This intended 'ghost' aesthetic uses standard solid colors rather than trans-clear plastics to provide better detail visibility.
Printing Details
High-quality pad printing on torso (front and back) and legs (front). The silver-grey accents are finely detailed to represent the textures of Elizabethan-era clothing.
Variants
hp309 (2021) is a Glow-in-the-Dark variant. hp144 (the figure in the image) is the standard white/grey version.
Condition Notes
The neck post is a common stress point. The white hands are prone to discoloration or 'dirt staining.' The silver printing on the torso can rub off with heavy play.
Estimated Value
Used (Complete): $4.00 - $6.00 USD. Used (Incomplete/No hair as pictured): $2.50 - $3.50 USD.
Price (New)
Originally included in the Hogwarts Great Hall (75954) which retailed for $99.99 USD.
Compatible Sets
75954 Hogwarts Great Hall (2018).
Character Background
Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington, the resident ghost of Gryffindor House at Hogwarts. Known for his botched decapitation which left him 'Nearly Headless.'
Design Notes
This was the first time LEGO updated the character since 2001. The designers chose a solid white/grey look rather than the transparent neon green used for ghosts in the early 2000s.
Similar Minifigures
Bloody Baron (hp291), The Fat Friar, Grey Lady, and the early 2001 transparent green Nearly Headless Nick (hp019).
Collectibility
Moderate. He is a 'must-have' for completionists of the 2018-2020 Hogwarts castle system, but his value is capped by high production numbers of the Great Hall set.
History
Launched with the 'Wizarding World' reboot in 2018 which modernized all Harry Potter minifigures with higher detail and better color accuracy to the films.
Interesting Facts
Despite his name, the minifigure head is firmly attached to a standard neck; however, the design allows for easy removal to play out his signature movie gag.
Display Suggestions
Best displayed in a Great Hall MOC or alongside other Hogwarts ghosts. Using a transparent 1x2 brick under his feet helps create a floating effect.
Modification Potential
Excellent for historical MOCs. The torso and legs are perfect for generic Elizabethan or Renaissance-era noblemen if swapped with flesh-toned parts.
Overall Assessment
A faithful and well-printed representation of a key side character. While currently missing the hair piece, the torso and head are in good condition. Rating: 7/10 for design, 4/10 for investment value.
