Figure ID

sw1315

Theme

Star Wars

Year Released

2023 (Released with the UCS Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser set 75367)

Rarity

Rare to Very Rare. Initially exclusive to a $650 USD set. While a similar version later appeared in a Microfighter, this specific UCS version remains highly sought after for its unique printing and accessories.

Head

Standard 'Nougat' flesh-toned clone head with a determined expression, featuring a bandage print on the side representing the removal of his inhibitor chip. Covered by a Phase 2 helmet with 'Jaig Eyes' and weld-mark printing.

Torso

White Phase 2 clone armor with blue 501st Legion markings, ammo pouches, and a printed belt. Features arm printing on both sides with kill tallies (blue hash marks) on the shoulders.

Legs

White legs with blue 501st markings and knee pad printing. Includes detailed toe/foot printing, a rare feature for Star Wars minifigures.

Accessories

Includes a custom blue fabric pauldron with a black edge, a grey plastic rangefinder attached to the helmet, and typically paired with two DC-17 blaster pistols (though not pictured).

Color Scheme

Primary white and blue (501st colors) with black, grey, and nougat accents. Specialized 'weld' marks in grey on the helmet and torso.

Printing Details

Extremely high-detail pad printing. Includes arm printing, toe printing, and side-leg printing. The level of detail on the 'Jaig Eyes' and tally marks is superior to previous iterations.

Variants

The sw0450 (2013) version lacks arm/toe printing. The sw1315 (pictured) has the bandage head. A 2024 Microfighter version exists which is nearly identical but sparked controversy over UCS exclusivity.

Condition Notes

Prone to fraying on the fabric pauldron. Check for 'helmet holes' alignment. Arm printing can wear if played with heavily. The rangefinder can become loose over time.

Character Background

CC-7567 'Rex' was the Captain of the 501st Legion during the Clone Wars. He is a primary protagonist in 'The Clone Wars' and 'Rebels' series and a close friend to Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano.

Design Notes

This figure marked the return of the 'waist cape' (kama) being printed onto legs rather than being a cloth piece, a controversial design choice among fans, though the arm printing and bandage head were highly praised.

Similar Minifigures

sw0450 (2013 Phase 2 Rex), sw0194 (Phase 1 Rex), sw1097 (501st Legion Clone Trooper).

Collectibility

High demand. Captain Rex is one of the most beloved characters in the Star Wars fandom, ensuring long-term desirability despite broader availability in cheaper sets.

History

For 10 years (2013-2023), the Phase 2 Rex was a 'holy grail' figure reaching $200+. This 2023 version updated the design to modern standards with superior limb printing.

Interesting Facts

The bandage on his head is a direct reference to the Season 6 'Clone Wars' arc where he removes his chips to avoid Order 66. This is the first Captain Rex to feature official arm printing.

Display Suggestions

Display on a stand next to the UCS Venator plaque or alongside Admiral Yularen and Commander Ahsoka Tano for a 'Siege of Mandalore' or 'Republic High Command' scene.

Modification Potential

Collectors often swap the printed 'kama' legs for a custom fabric kama from third-party sellers like Cape Cantina or Clone Army Customs for a more premium look.

Overall Assessment

9/10 Quality rating. A flagship minifigure of the modern era. While the lack of a cloth kama is a minor drawback, the arm and helmet printing are world-class.
