2010. Debuted in the set 8085 Freeco Speeder, during the height of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series popularity.
Rarity
Uncommon. While it only appeared in two sets from 2010-2011, those sets were at an accessible price point. It is harder to find in mint condition today due to its age.
Head
Light flesh tone with a determined expression, iconic vertical scar over the right eye, and a printed tan/gold headset communicator. Dual-sided printing: one side determined, the other featuring a more aggressive/angry look. Topped with reddish-brown messy hair piece (mold 88283).
Torso
Dark blue/black Jedi tunic with 'parka' or cold-weather detailing. Features dark brown arms and light flesh hands. Back printing includes the Continuation of the Jedi robes and belt line.
Legs
Black legs with dark brown hip piece. Printing on the front of the legs depicts the bottom of the tunic and Jedi utility belt details in dark brown and copper tones.
Accessories
Usually comes with a blue lightsaber (trans-light blue blade with metallic silver hilt). The figure in the image is missing its weapon.
Color Scheme
Primary colors are Black, Dark Brown, and Reddish Brown. It utilizes Light Flesh for skin tones and features metallic copper accents on the belt printing.
Printing Details
High-quality pad printing typical of the 2010 era. The headset detail on the face is notably fine. Torso printing includes a V-neck design showing an undershirt.
Variants
This specific headset/parka version is unique. It differs from the standard Clone Wars Anakin (sw0183) which lacks the headset and the cold-weather gear printing.
Condition Notes
Check for 'silvering' or fading on the metallic belt prints. Common wear points include torso cracks under the arms and loose neck clutch power. The hair piece is prone to tooth marks or scratches.
Estimated Value
Used Complete: $10.00 - $15.00 USD. New/Mint: $20.00 - $25.00 USD. Prices fluctuate based on the condition of the face print.
Price (New)
Originally available in set 8085 which retailed for $24.99 USD, and later in a super-pack bundle.
Compatible Sets
8085 Freeco Speeder (2010), 66341 Star Wars Super Pack 3-in-1 (2010).
Character Background
Based on Anakin Skywalker's appearance in 'The Clone Wars' episode 'Trespass,' where he travels to the ice planet Orto Plutonia. The headset and parka represent his specialized gear for the mission.
Design Notes
This figure is notable for the transition period in LEGO Star Wars where characters had 'stylized' eyes to match the animation of the Clone Wars series, which were later phased out for classic dots.
Similar Minifigures
sw0183 (Standard Clone Wars Anakin), sw0264 (Thi-Sen), sw0265 (Captain Rex with Cold Weather Gear).
Collectibility
Moderate. It is a niche variant for completionists of the Clone Wars era. Its specific connection to a single episode arc makes it a unique addition to an Anakin collection.
History
Launched during the second wave of Clone Wars sets. It marked one of the first times LEGO began producing environment-specific variants for main characters beyond just 'Standard' and 'Pilot'.
Interesting Facts
The face print with the headset was a very rare design choice at the time, as most communicators were represented by hand-held accessories rather than face printing.
Display Suggestions
Best displayed in a Hoth or Orto Plutonia snow diorama alongside his Freeco Speeder or Obi-Wan Kenobi in similar cold-weather gear.
Modification Potential
The head is frequently used for custom 'Pilot' Anakin MOCs because of the printed communicator. The torso is excellent for custom dark-themed Jedi.
Overall Assessment
A solid, era-specific variant of a main character. While not the most valuable Anakin, its unique face print and cold-weather torso make it a standout for fans of the animated series.
