Lasha

Figure ID

njo049

Theme

Ninjago

Year Released

2012

Rarity

Uncommon; while he appeared in several sets, his unique head mold and the age of the 'Rise of the Snakes' wave make him a desirable collectible for Ninjago fans.

Head

Unique molded orange snake head with a long neck (Venomari tribe). Features black and lime green printing for eyes and scales. The head and neck are a single solid piece that attaches directly to the torso.

Torso

Dark Stone Grey (Dark Gray) torso with orange and lime green scale printing. Design includes a bone-style necklace and green snake-skin armor patterns. Back printing continues the armor and scale motif. Arms are orange with Dark Stone Grey hands.

Legs

Orange legs with printing on the hips and front of the legs. The print features a brown loincloth/belt area with lime green and dark teal scale accents.

Accessories

In its original retail sets, Lasha usually came with a variety of weaponry such as a silver spear (set 9447) or a green 'bite' blade (set 9562). This specific photo is missing its accessories.

Color Scheme

Bright Orange primary color with Dark Stone Grey, Lime Green, and Dark Teal accents.

Printing Details

High-quality pad printing typical of the early 2010s. The detail on the molded head piece is particularly sharp, with distinct pupil/eye printing. Torso and leg alignment is generally excellent.

Variants

There are no major production variants of this specific ID, though Lasha appeared with different leg printing in the 2019 'Legacy' line (njo493), which features more modern, detailed printing.

Condition Notes

The long-neck head mold is prone to 'lean' or slight warping if stored under pressure. Orange plastic from this era can occasionally show stress marks at the neck post or heel cracks. The printing on the tip of the snout is often the first area to show play-wear.

Estimated Value

Used Complete: $3.00 - $6.00 USD. New/Mint: $8.00 - $12.00 USD. The value is relatively stable as a 'grunt' character from an iconic early wave.

Price (New)

He appeared in sets ranging from the $9.99 9562 Lasha Spinner to the $39.99 9447 Lasha's Bite Cycle.

Compatible Sets

9562 Lasha (Spinner); 9447 Lasha's Bite Cycle; 4611520 Ninjago Co-Pack; 9450 Epic Dragon Battle (as a minor antagonist).

Character Background

Lasha is a scout for the Venomari, one of the five Serpentine tribes. In the Ninjago TV show, the Venomari have the ability to spray hallucinogenic venom that causes their enemies to see their worst fears.

Design Notes

The 2012 Serpentine used four distinct head molds for the different tribes. Lasha's mold is the 'Scout' class mold for the Venomari, characterized by the elongated neck and flattened, triangular snake head.

Similar Minifigures

Spitta (njo048), Mezmo (njo050), and Rattla (njo033). These share the same 'Scout' class aesthetic from the different Serpentine tribes.

Collectibility

High for Ninjago completionists. The 'Rise of the Snakes' wave remains one of the most nostalgic eras for the theme, and having a full army of the different Serpentine tribes is a common goal for collectors.

History

Launched during Ninjago's second year (Season 1), this figure helped establish the variety and distinct 'look' of the Serpentine villains which remains a fan-favorite era of character design.

Interesting Facts

Despite being a 'scout' or common soldier character, Lasha gained a following for his clumsy and eccentric personality in the Ninjago animated series.

Display Suggestions

Best displayed alongside other members of the Venomari tribe (Acidicus and Spitta) or within the 9447 Bite Cycle vehicle. Use a tiered display to highlight the unique neck height.

Modification Potential

The head piece is popular for custom fantasy and 'Lizardman' MOCs, though the bright orange color limits its use to specific creature types.

Overall Assessment

A classic Ninjago antagonist from the theme's golden age. While not the most expensive figure, it is a high-quality example of LEGO's dedication to unique character molds.
