Harry Potter, Tan Sweater with Argyle Pattern

Figure ID

hp094

Theme

Harry Potter

Year Released

2010 (July). It debuted during the major LEGO Harry Potter revival wave, coinciding with the buildup to the Deathly Hallows film releases.

Rarity

Uncommon. While not a limited edition, it was exclusive to a single larger set (4840 The Burrow), which was out of production relatively quickly compared to main-line City or Star Wars sets.

Head

Yellow skin tone with black eyebrows and a small, slightly worried or neutral mouth. It features the classic lightning bolt scar on the left side of the forehead. The hair is the classic 'potter hair' mold (part number 45997) in black.

Torso

Medium Orange/Tan mix torso with an intricate brown and dark brown argyle diamond pattern on the front. It features a printed white undershirt collar with a small black tie/bow detail. The back of the torso is unprinted.

Legs

Plain dark tan / khaki standard-length legs. No printing on the hips or legs.

Accessories

In its original set (4840), it came with a standard brown wand (part 6124). The figure in the image is missing the accessory.

Color Scheme

A warm palette of medium orange, dark tan, and brown. This represent's Harry's Muggle clothing, contrasted against the yellow skin tone used before the full transition to flesh-toned licensed figures.

Printing Details

Pad printing on the torso front and head front only. The argyle diamonds are well-aligned, typical of the high quality 2010 era production. There is no arm or leg printing.

Variants

This is the only 'Argyle Sweater' version. Earlier Harry figures (2001-2005) used different torso prints or capes, and later versions (2011+) moved to light flesh skin tones.

Condition Notes

Common wear points include neck cracks on the torso and hair scuffs. The yellow plastic is generally resistant to fading unless exposed to UV. The hands are yellow and can show teeth marks if played with.

Estimated Value

$8.00 - $12.00 USD used complete; $15.00+ new condition. The torso is the most valuable component.

Price (New)

Available in set 4840 The Burrow, which retailed for $59.99 USD in 2010.

Compatible Sets

LEGO Harry Potter Set 4840: The Burrow (2010).

Character Background

Represents Harry Potter in his civilian/Muggle clothing while visiting the Weasley household (The Burrow). This specific look is inspired by the early scenes of the 'Chamber of Secrets' film.

Design Notes

Significant for being one of the final 'Yellow Era' licensed minifigures before LEGO committed fully to flesh tones for all movie-based themes. The argyle pattern is uniquely detailed for that period.

Similar Minifigures

hp095 (Harry Potter, Blue Open Shirt), hp005 (Classic Harry), and various Ron Weasley figures from the 2010 Burrow set.

Collectibility

Moderate. It is highly desired by 'Yellow Era' completionists and fans of The Burrow set. It holds value well due to the uniqueness of the torso print.

History

Follows the 2001-2004 initial run and precedes the 2018 modern reboot. It represents the 'middle age' of LEGO Harry Potter design where prints became more complex but colors stayed traditional.

Interesting Facts

Despite the set (The Burrow) representing the 6th book/movie, this Harry design is anachronistic and more closely resembles his style from the 2nd film, providing a 'timeless' feel for fans.

Display Suggestions

Best displayed with the 2010 Burrow set or on a stand alongside the 2010 versions of Ron and Ginny Weasley to show the thematic unity of their civilian clothes.

Modification Potential

The tan argyle torso is very popular for MOC (My Own Creation) builders looking to create 'nerdy' or 'academic' custom characters in City-themed layouts.

Overall Assessment

A charming and essential piece for collectors of the 2010 Harry Potter wave. It is a high-quality figure that captures the cozy aesthetic of the Weasley family home scene perfectly. Rating: 7.5/10.
